OPI: Y'all Come Back Ya Hear (Texas Collection)

Good morning my friends! I hope you're all having a fabulous week! Today I want to share another polish from the OPI Texas collection with you.  This is called Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? which I think is a totally adorable name! Do people really say that in Texas? I hope so!

This is one of OPI's new sorbet finishes. Which is semi transparent and jelly like. These offer a nice high shine.  If you're  into opaque and loathe visible nail line then these probably are not for you.  I have a love/hate relationship with these. When my nails are on the short side I don't mind seeing through a bit but when they're long it irritates me.  In the photos my nails are long. I did three coats and the VNL isn't really all that noticeable in the lighting I took the photos in. In direct light through there is VNL.  You won't get 100% opaque on these but this one in particular is more opaque than some of the others.  If you look close at the photos you can see the consistency of the polish in the bottle. You can tell it's much thinner than other polishes. But the thing is it's not really thin, it's just rubbery. Does that make sense? It's really cool!

I really like this color. It's orange, like ORANGE! hahaa! I think it will be wonderful for summer.  I bet this looks just incredible on darker skin tones!

So what do you think of this one. Will y'all be picking this up? (I couldn't resist using y'all in a sentence!)

OPI: Houston We Have a Purple (Texas Collection)

Monday again! Why do weekends go by so fast? Oh well!

Today I have another OPI Texas Collection color to share.  This is Houston We Have a Purple. I think that name is adorable!!!  I am not sure I exactly see it as a purple; I guess I'd call it a pink toned magenta.  It's quite berry toned which I don't think looks good on my skintone.  It's one of OPI's new "sorbet" finishes.

I needed 4 coats of this to achieve the opacity pictured... which wasn't too opaque. After 4 coats I still had the dreaded visible nail line (VNL).  I hate seeing the nail like, it looks like I have dirty nails even when they are pristine!  I think these sorbets look best on shorter nails, that's just my opinion of course, to each his own.  I also think these would make great pedicure colors. I love the high shine finishes. I am so torn on these new sorbets...

Please excuse the bottle in the photos, it's odd the P seems to have rubbed off or something.

What do you think of this one? Have you picked it, or any of the other sorbet polishes up yet?

OPI: Do You Think I'm Tex-y? (Texas Collection)

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great week. Today I have another polish from the Texas collection to share with you. Sorry these are taking so long. I am hoping to catch up on photos this weekend, so we'll see how it goes. I am also getting a new laptop (should come today) so I will be able to do things faster! My current laptop is old!

This is  Do You Think I'm Tex-y? what a cute name!!! OPI describes this as "a "berry" sexy bloom of Dallas Dahlia" This is one of OPI's new "sorbet" finishes which OPI consders semi-transparent. These are similar to jelly finishes. They're high shine but pretty sheer and squishy looking.  I have  love/hate relationship with this finish. I think it looks best on short nails. When you have longer nails the white tip peeks through and causes your nails to look dirty no matter how clean they are.  I was able to minimize this effect with Do You Think I'm Tex-y  by applying 3 coats, however, you'll see in an upcoming review I was not able to do that with all the sorbets.

This particular color is really pretty for summer. I think it'd look great with a tan. Like I said above, I do think it's more suited for shorter nails because it's so sheer. If you can get past the sheer aspect the high shine is really pretty!

Have you tried any of the sorbet colors? What do you think of them?

Don't be shy in the comments. I had a tremendous response to my "Do you blog" post so it'd be nice to see some of you responders in the comments sometimes!
