SpaRitual: A World of Compassion & some fun news!

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well in your neighborhood. Thanks for coming by the blog today!!! I have some fun news! My blog was featured in Woman's World Magazine for the month of August! That issue hit stands today so be sure to check it out! Some other amazing polish blogers were in the feature too.  It's so fun! I am so excited to have contributed and so honored that they approached me to be involved.  It's in the "You Deserve the Best..." feature which focuses on nail polish this issue.  Let me know if you see it!

Today I want to share a color from SpaRitual with you.  This is called A World of Compassion which of course I spelled completely wrong in my watermark, oops! Sorry!!! Oh well, don't feel like re-editing the photos right now.

A World of Compassion is a gorgeous grayed purple creme. This is one of my favorite colors! I just love the shade. I think it works on most skintones and is really almost a neutral in my book.

The formula on this one is perfection. I had no issues with it and it was nearly opaque in just one coat. I used two coats for good measure, of course. The finish is the perfect shiny creme. I am not sure you can see the shine factor in the photos (I need to get away from the window and back outside to take pics, they always came out better IMO) but trust me, it's shiny!

I am consistently impressed with this brand so if you haven't tried it you should!!

Slightly blurry but shows the color well without shadowing:

OPI: Your Royal Shine-ness & Nicole by OPI: White Texture

Alright, I'll admit it, I am not sold on all the crackle nail polishes that are out now. I know it's a big trend but I am just not a huge fan.  I know a lot of you love it so I have been trying to feature some looks here and there.

A co-worker of mine got her nails done this week and they used a crackle polish on here and I thought it looked great.  It was a cracked pattern  I haven't seen, much different from the shatter.  She didn't remember the brand but I gave her a mission to find out for me.  Since I liked her nails so much I decided to try and recreate the look with polishes in my collection. Here's what I came up with.

I used OPI's Your Royal Shine-ness and topped it with Nicole by OPI's White Texture which is the same formula as OPI's shatter polishes.  While hers looked slightly cooler I do like this look a lot.

What do you think?

China Glaze: White Cap

Hi all! Sorry for the delay in posting, I have been so busy! Of course now that I am ready to ppost again I have a broken nail. Figures.  The hubby and I went on vacation and we're just getting back to reality. Sidenote: I got a Shellac Manicure for vacation (sorry no pics) and hated it. I don't think it was the Shellac though, I think it was the manicurist. Ugh! But it did sort of last the entire week (I had major tip wear but I think she just applied it wrong). I haven't given up on Shellac yet though.

So today I have China Glaze's White Cap to share with you all. I didn't think I'd like this color but I really do actually.  It's an icy white color with tons of gold shimmer in it.  In certain lighting I swear I see green or blue shimmer but it might be in my mind. The gold is gorgeous though and I am really happy with this color.
I used three coats for the level of opacity shown in the photos below. It is not fully opaque but I am okay with it. The polish went on nicely and the finish is smooth.

What do you think of White Cap? Have you tried it?

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day to those of you reading from America! This is a fun holiday and I love having the day off :-) I tried to create a patriotic nail design to be festive, I stink at nail art so I did something simple. I haven't really embraced the crackle nail trend (I tend to think the old school crackle polishes created a cuter design) but I used the new Nicole by OPI texture coats for this design.

Here's what I used:

On my pinkie and thumb (not pictured I have one coat of China Glaze in Snow topped with the Nicole by OPI texture coat in Red.  Then on my pointer and my pinkie I have one coat of Zoya's  Sookie topped with the Nicole by OPI texture coat in White. As you can probably see, there was no real need to change it up like that because the end result is practically the same. Oh well!

On my ring finger is the amazing Revlon Top Speed polish in Royal (it's a gorgeous royal blue jelly!!) topped with the Cover Girl Boundless Color top coat in Disco Dazzle which is awesome!!!!

So what do you think? Did I capture the holiday on my nails?
