Color Club: Pretty in Platinum

Happy Wednesday all! I hope you're all having a good week. It's been rainy here but it looks like today will be a nice sunny day so I am excited.

Today I have a color from the Color Club Untamed Luxury collection; this is Pretty in Platinum and it's from the Indulgence line. It's a really light silver which leans white on me. In my opinion it's not quite a creme but it's not a shimmer, it's an interesting finish I cannot describe.

The formula on this was nice. I didn't have any application problems and I feel like it went on smoothly. My one issue with it is I had major tip wear. I am not sure if it's the polish or if my Seche Vite shrunk on me so I can't say for sure which was the issue. If you enlarge the photos though you will see that there is lots of tip wear and these photos were taken after 1/2 day of wear.

Overall I'd say this one is not bad. It's not my favorite color in the bunch but the formula was okay and the finish was interesting and unique.

Have you tried Pretty in Platinum? What are your thoughts on this polish? Let me know in the comments, I love to hear from you all.

Rimmel: Climax

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend, I did! On Saturday my husband and I went to Yankee game with our great friends Sarah & Pat. We had a great time! On Sunday we had our Godson's Christening. He was so good and cute as always!

Today I wanted to share a random color from Rimmel with you. This is Rimmel London's Climax. It's a really pretty lilac purple duochrome. It flashes pink and purple which is really pretty. I am usually not a fan of frosty/duochrome type colors but this one is really pretty. I love love love purples so that's probably why.

The formula on this is wonderful. I really think Rimmel is an underrated brand. All of the polishes I have tried from this brand have been amazing. I love the brush, it's flat and sort of tapered at the end, makes for perfect application. I just love it.

The best part? This was $2.99 or something ridiculously cheap like that! And I had a coupon from Redplum for $1 off so it was so inexpensive. Cannot beat that! You can get these at most drugstores, I got mine at Walmart.

Milani: Bare to Wear

Happy Friday readers! I hope you're all ready for a great weekend. This weekend my husband and I are going to a Yankees/Red Sox game and then on Sunday it's our nephew/godson's Christening. So we have a busy weekend planned. I am excited.

Today I want to share one of my favorite new Milani colors. This is Bare to Wear which came out recently with a collection of several other nudes. This one is a gorgeous gray with, call me crazy, a little bit of a pinkish/purple tint. I really enjoy this color. It's so pretty and shiny! Can you see how this is sort of lavender-y? I just love colors that have a sort of dual look to them. It's a creme so it has no shimmer or frost. I love cremes!

This formula is wonderful. Milani's polishes have gotten better over the years, I am quite impressed with this. It went on smoothly, it was opaque in just two coats and it has a great high shine to it. I love it!

So what do you think? Are you a fan of this color? I love it. I purchased this and Teddy Bare from CVS for $4.95 each. This week they were BOGO 50% off, so if you run there before Sunday you can get the same deal.

Color Club: Ms Hautie

This is Ms. Hautie by Color Club. I wanted to love this color. I really did. In the bottle it has amazing blue and pink shimmers and I just thought the combination of colors was stunning. On the nail however I had the same issues I had with De-luxe-cious from the same collection. The glitter just sunk into the polish making it grainy and textured. Almost none of the color appeared on the nail which was a huge disappointment.

Application was easy, so the problems with the formula, IMO, do not really alter how the product applies, it still applies well. However the glitter sinking in makes me so sad for this polish. What appears to be a dynamic and unique color in the bottle becomes a dull color on the nail.

Hopefully this and De-luxe-cious are the only disappointing colors in this collection. We'll see...

Color Club: Red Velvet

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. We didn't do much this weekend but we still had fun. It was my father in law's birthday so we had dinner over the in law's house and of course, CAKE! Other than that we didn't do much this weekend.

Today I want to share Color Club's Red Velvet from the their fall collection. I am so bummed that these photos did not come out good. I tried so hard to get the beauty of this color to come through and I just was not able to capture the color properly. I am so sorry about that!

Red Velvet has a black base and fine red glitter. It's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for fall. It's similar to China Glaze's Lubu Heels but the base in this one is more black where as Lubu Heels is sort of brown-ish, IMO. I love the color of Red Velvet and I wish the photos picked up on that amazing red glitter. Trust me, it's there and it's fabulous.

The formula on this one was much better than De-luxe-cious, the glitter did not sink in. I did need a thick coat of Seche Vite on top though to not feel the texture of the glitter but it was not as gritty as De-luxe-cious was. Application was average, it wasn't amazing but it was sufficient. Overall I like the polish a lot and will wear it again for sure.

What do you think of Red Velvet? Is it your kind of color?

Again, sorry for the photos, I wish they came out better.

Barielle Shades: Tight Knit

Happy Friday! I hope you're all doing well. Today I want to show you another beauty from the Barielle Shades Style in Argyle collection called Tight Knit.

Tight Knit is described as "a purple brown creme" and I think that is an accurate color description. The reason I love this color so much is because it's brown but sort of mauve so it's really cool to look at and matches everything. I love it.

The formula, like the others in this collection is fantastic. I am so impressed with the polishes in this collection. They apply so simply with no mess and have fantastic shine to them. A++ in my book!

Gorgeous or what? I love it.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway before October 1st.

Color Club: DE-LUXE-CIOUS

Hi folks. Hope all is well. Today I have a color from Color Club's fall collection to share with you.

This is De-Luxe-Cious which is a cobalt blue color with multicolored glitter. This is gorgeous in the bottle but to my disappointment this color did not translate on the nail. The glitter in this polish does not stay on the surface of the nail, instead it sinks into the polish creating sort of an air bubble bumpy look. The finish is quite bumpy and textured. Of course I used a top coat which helped the bumpiness but it was still sort of textured.

The application though was nice. I had no trouble applying it, I didn't have to do much clean up and overall it was easy to work with.

I am sad this color didn't work for me because the bottle is just so pretty.

What do you think? Do you see what I mean about the texture? I am not sure it translated well to the photo. I love Color Club but this didn't do it for me.

Barielle Shades asks "Wool You Marry Me?" this Fall!

Happy Monday! It's icky and rainy here today but fall is in the air and it's getting exciting. It's my favorite time of year. Crisp air, but not cold. Sleeping with the windows open. Jackets but not mittens. Hot cocoa, cider donuts, apple picking and leaves changing. And of course FOOTBALL! Bring on the fall!!

Today I have a gorgeous color from Barielle's fall line called Wool You Marry Me?. Barielle calls this "a plum brown creme" and I get that. I think it's plummy but it leans a bit more maroon on me. I LOVE it. Look how shiny this color is. These photos have NO TOPCOAT! How amazing is that! I adore a good shine on my creme polishes.

Again, the formula is excellent. I am really impressed with this collection so far. The cremes just glide on, the application required little clean up on my end. I adore it.

What do you think, how will you respond to the question Wool You Marry Me? I say YES! LOL. I love this color. I am a huge fan of reddish colors though so I am interested to hear what red haters have to think.

Ohhh, readers, be on the lookout for a giveaway coming soon. I am going to be giving away two high end polishes when I hit 300 followers, or when I can't wait any longer and have to do it LOL so keep your eyes peeled for a chance to win!

Barielle Shades: Aura Angora (Style in Argyle Collection)

Happy Friday readers! I hope the week has been going well for you and that you're ready for a great weekend. My ankle is getting better but it still hurts. Boo to not paying attention while hiking.

Today I have another color from the Style in Argyle Collection by Barielle Shades. This is called Aura Angora, it's described as a "royal gold creme". It's a really rich sort of mustard yellow color that seems to be so in this season. When I first saw the promo images of this one I thought it was going to be close in color to Classic Camel by China Glaze but it's much much more flattering on me than that one turned out to be, I think it's the creme finish. I love cremes. I find this just warm enough to really work for me, it was a nice surprise!

The formula on this is wonderful, like butta baby! I love it. Since it's sort of yellow I expected it to be a thick pigmented mess like many yellows are but this one was smooth and applied without any trouble. I am really impressed with the Barielle Shades I have tried so far, I cannot believe it's taken me this long to explore the line. Oh well, better late than never right?

Thanks, as always, for reading. Have a wonderful weekend and don't hesitate to drop me a line in the comments, I love to hear from you all!
