The Spooky Bones Company: The Bottom

Hello lovelies! It's an absolutely picture perfect gorgeous day in Connecticut today! Great weather puts me in a great mood! Tomorrow my little sister is graduating from college! We're extremely proud of her. She's struggled with a learning disability and doctors told her she wouldn't go to college, or drive for that matter, well you know what, she does both! We're so happy for her!! She's worked her butt off to get here! So tomorrow we celebrate! :-)

Today I want to share a polish from an Etsy store with you all.  I was contacted by Amber of The Spooky Bones Company and she generously offered me a chance to try her nail polish creations.  I actually have not tried any esty polishes yet so I was excited! (Now I have an order from an etsy store coming and I have an amazing friend who's sending me the famous Floam).  Amber makes "franken" polishes and sells them on Etsy. I have no idea what polishes she uses for her mixtures but I do want to show you my favorite of the four I got to try.

This is The Bottom and Spooky Bones describes it as: "A beautiful black with not only multi color but multi shaped glitter. It's like look at the twinkling night sky or a city skyline reflecting over the river late late at night." I  really enjoyed this mixture of colors! I used two coats for opacity and it applied smoothly with no streaking or balding. The glitter was prominent and didn't sink into the base like some glitters in a dark base tend to do. I like glitters like this so I don't have to put a glitter topper on!

So what do you think of this one? It sells in mini bottles for $3.50 on Etsy. Have you tried anything from The Spooky Bones Etsy store?

Essie: Topless & Barefoot

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend and treated your moms' to a great Mothers' Day and Happy Mothers' Day to all of the moms who follow my blog!! I hope your kids spoiled you! I had a nice weekend. On Saturday my husband and I went for a nice long hike then later in the evening we went  for dinner at a local place everyone raves about, it was fantastic. Then yesterday I spent time with my mother for Mothers' Day, it was fun!

Today I have a  nude to share with you that I believe came out last year, though I am just getting around to trying it out. This is Essie's Topless & Barefoot which seems to have become a blogger/youtube guru favorite over the last year.  I love nude polish and this is no exception. I'd consider this one to be Sand Tropez's pinker cousin. It's a warmer beige nude creme and less grey than Sand Tropez

This went on smooth and opaque in just two coats.  I had no issues with streaking or balding and I was happy with application.

What do you think of this one? Need it in your life or just another run of the mill nude?  FYI: I got mine at CVS which seems to have a nice selection of Essie polishes these days.

Who Loves Green? I do... I do!

Hello my friends. Sorry for my laziness this week with posting. I suck!! Today I want to show you some great army like greens! I love green so much and these two are no exception!

The first I have is OPI's Uh Oh Roll Down the Window from the Touring America collection. The name is RIDICULOUS but the color is great! It's a really nice army green  creme and the formula is awesome. I had no issues with application and needed just two coats for full opacity.

Next is a color I have had in my collection for quite some time but didn't use until this week. What was I thinking?! This color is great! This is Sephora by OPI's Caught with my Khakis Down, again with the ridiculous names. This color is more muted and gray toned than Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window which makes it a bit more neutral to me. I love it! I am wearing it right now, it's been 3 days, and it's worn well. I do have some chipping but it's not horrible.  I used two coats for full opacity with no issues at all.

What is your favorite army green color?!

Nubar: Grape & Blueberry

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. I hope my husband and I get to go see The Avengers but we have a pretty busy weekend so who knows if we will make it to the movies.

Today I have two colors from Nubar's Jellybean collection to share with you.  The first is Grape which is a gorgeous mid-toned purple.  The formula on this is awesome. It's a creme/jelly hybrid which means it's opaque but super shiny and squishy looking like a jelly. I love love love love love purples like this! I just think they are so flattering with my skin tone.  I only needed two coats for the opacity shown, which impressed me.

Next up is Blueberry which was IMPOSSIBLE to photograph. I am telling you right now, this is not color accurate. This color messed with my camera like you would not believe.  OMG! So even though the color in the photos below is beautiful it is NOT what Blueberry looks like at all in real life. Sigh.  In real life Blueberry is simply a true royal blue. It's about as royal blue of a color that I have seen in polish and it's quite beautiful. It's pretty similar in texture and color to Revlon's Royal.  I wish I could have captured the true color but my camera just couldn't deal with its awesomeness.

I love Nubar polishes and these two are no exception. Pretty much the entire Jellybean collection has fantastic formulas and vibrant fun colors. I've never seen Nubar polishes in a store, only online, but if you haven't tried the brand you should, they're really awesome quality.

What colors by Nubar are your favorites? What are your plans for the weekend?!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: OPI Minnie Mouse Collection

Happy Wednesday everyone! One day closer to the weekend.  On Wednesdays we wear pink and since I have skipped a few I thought I'd show you a few today, though one is red. These colors are from OPI's Minnie Mouse collection. If you know anything about me you know I am a Disney fanatic. When I am not in Disney World I am not happy! It's my favorite place in the entire world, much to my husband's dismay. He likes it there but wants to go somewhere else once in a while LOL. So when I saw OPI was putting out a Minnie Mouse collection I squealed with joy! These are three of the four colors. The 4th is a sheer pink glitter with hearts, very fun!

I look awful in this pic but I needed a Minnie photo for the post LOL. Don't mind my crazy hair (it was FL in July man!) but there's our girl:

PLEASE NOTE: I mixed up I'm All Ears and If You Moust You Moust. I apologize for that! It's going to be a PAIN to re-edit photos so just please note my mistake. Thank you all for letting me know!

The first color I have here is my favorite of the bunch, I'm All Ears  If You Moust You Moust this is a gorgeous pink. It's hard to describe, it's not hot pink but it's not baby pink it's in-between. I don't pull pink off well but this is the color pink I love when I do wear pink. Something about it is just so flattering. I think it's pretty blue based, but I am no expert. ;-)

This is really If You Moust You Moust:

Next up is If You Moust You Moust I'm All Ears which is a name I do not understand.  I have seen this compared to Butter London's Disco Biscuit but I don't have it to do my own comparison. As you can see from the first photo it is pretty sheer, but I think that was mostly the work of the flash as the second picture doesn't show the nail line as much. This is not my favorite color pink in all the land but it's alright.

This is really  I'M ALL EARS:

Last I have a red one to share with you. This is called The Color of Minnie and I think that it really does fit Minnie Mouse! This is a super pretty red with a pink duo chrome frost look to it. It's a pretty fun take on red.

All of these were two coats. The only one that might benefit from a third is If You Moust You Moust. My favorite is I'm All Ears it's a perfect pink! Which one is your favorite?

Do you love Disney as much as I do!? Share your favorite Disney memory with me below!
