Cult Nails: My Kind of Cool Aid

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!!! Today I want to share another Cult Nails lacquer with you This is My Kind of Cool Aid - isn't that the cutest name for a company named "cult"!?  My Kind of Cool Aid  is described as a "gravender" with delicate shimmer.   These tones always call out to me and this is no exception.  I thought it would be similar to a Sally Hansen Color I have in Mystic Lilac but My Kind of Cool Aid is more purple and less shimmery. I will do a comparison at some point, but they're not dupes at all. This one is unique in my very large collection. I love the subtle shimmer, it adds interest and a bit of glam

Like the other Cult Nails polishes I have tried, the formula on this is great. I had no application issues.  It was opaque in 2 easy coats, no balding, streaking or cuticle pooling.

So what do you think of this one? I really love it! I am all over these grayed out purples.  I can't get enough of them and if they ever go out of style I will still be that girl rocking it on my nails for sure.

Cult Nails has 4 polishes available online for $10 a piece. Have you tried this brand yet?

Cult Nails: Living Water

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great week and have fun plans for the weekend too!  Today I have another Cult Nails polish to share with you.  This is Living Water.  It's a gorgeous deep blue, which is almost black but not quite, with tons of green glitter.   The base color is bluish green which I am so happy about because it makes it more unique than if it was black.

I only used two coats to achieve the opacity you see in the photos which I think is great since the base color is sort of jelly.  I found the glitter to be slightly gritty (nothing like a full on glitter polish but sort of textured) so I did add two coats of Seche Vite on top.  The top coat is a must to achieve high shine on this one and IMO completes the look really perfectly.

Like I mentioned before, a fellow blogger, Maria, owns and operates Cult Nails. I think that's so awesome!!

Have you tried Living Water? What do you think of it?

You can find Living Water here for $10 a bottle.

Cult Nails: Iconic

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I promised some Cult Nails reviews and thought I would start with Iconic.  Iconic is described as "a deep berry creme with gorgeous red flakes and hidden gold shimmer throughout."  I think that's perfectly accurate.  This color is stunning. I think it's quite unique as well. I love the golden flakies floating around in it! Make sure you enlarge the photos to see the shimmer in all its glory! The gold warms this berry color up so beautifully. I think this is a great fall/winter color, but you can wear it whenever really.

The formula on this is great. I had no problems with application. It's highly pigmented and fully opaque in two coats.  I had no streaking and no balding. When topped with my beloved Seche Vite top coat I got a brilliant shine. Gorgeous!

Cult Nails lacquers are available online for $10 a bottle. You might think it's pricey but Cult Nails is a small business without big investors behind them so $10 really isn't so bad when you think about what it must cost to run a small business. I think the polish is worth the splurge for sure. I love the idea of supporting fellow bloggers so be sure to check out Maria's line of polishes!

Cult Nails Goodies!

I am so excited! This week I got a package from the lovely Maria of Cult Nails containing her 4 beautiful new nail polish colors! I wanted to give you a sneak peek of the colors and tell you to be on the lookout for my review.  I am sure you've seen these swatches on several blogs but let me tell you they are even more beautiful in person! Great job Maria!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Maria, she's a nail polish blogger who just recently started her own polish line.  Her blog is awesome so be sure to head over there and check it out if you haven't already.

Here are the photos of the 4 polishes. One is taken without the flash, it's most color accurate. The second photo is with a flash to show the amazing sparkle of Living Water  but be advised the flash made Iconic look far more pink than it is.

Cult Nails polishes are available online for $10 each.

Back in the day I interviewed Maria. Check out that interview here.

Cult Nails Press Release: R3Daily's New Polish Line

I was very excited to see this press release in my Google Reader this afternoon. Maria at R3Daily is starting her very own nail polish line! I am so excited to see a fellow blogger make her dreams come true and I am happy to have known her from the start ;-) Don't forget about us when this makes you a household name like Essie or OPI girl!!!

When Maria first started blogging I had the pleasure of featuring her in one of my Interview with a Polish Blogger segments. You can read Maria's interview here. One interesting fact is that right before Maria first started R3Daily she visited a psychic and the psychic totally foreshadowed what was to come. Maria had been contemplating blogging about lacquer for a while and the psychic totally felt that. You can read more about that experience in her interview.

I wanted to share Maria's press release with you all (though I do imagine most of you follow her fantastic blog).

Cult Nails Press Release:

August 31, 2010 Nail polish blogger R3 Daily announces a new nail polish line, Cult Nails. Maria Morrison is the blogger of R3 Daily and creator of Cult Nails. The polish line will be B3 Free which means it does not contain formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phtalate. Cult Nails polish line is also camphor free, cruelty free and considered a vegan friendly product. "When creating this line it was important to me that not only can I safely wear it, but so can my daughters."

The line will launch in early 2011 with only three colors. Cult Nails will continue to introduce colors to the line throughout each fashion season in 2011. Maria stated that "While I was very excited about the opportunity, I had to be realistic in what I could bring to the table. A small line with a limited collection is a perfect introduction for Cult Nails. The focus is on creating trend setting polish colors that are fun and safe while taking an earth friendly stance in everything we do" In fact Cult Nails commitment to being earth friendly means removing unnecessary packaging, using boxes for shipping that are made from 100% recycled materials and shipping packages with reusable packing materials, like cotton balls.

The three introductory shades will retail for $10 per bottle and will include a vibrant holographic red aptly named "Follow Me", a true grey purple creme with a subtle shimmer named "My Kind of Cool Aid" and a yet to be chosen color that R3 Daily's blog followers will have an opportunity to create. Maria's goal is to involve the polish blogging community in the creation of this new line, "Polish bloggers and followers are the most amazing group of women I have seen. They are so supportive of each other and have amazing ideas when it comes to polish. I can't wait to see what they create! This line isn't just for me, it's for all of us!"

For more information on R3 Daily or Cult nails go to: http://www.r3daily.com/ or http://www.cultnails.com/
So be sure to check out her website and enter the contest for your chance to have your color be a part of Cult Nails inaugural line.

Congratulations Maria. I am excited to see where this polish line goes and I wish you continued success in the process. It's amazing to see someone's dreams come true and truly inspirational to all of us who have big ideas.
