OPI: My Dogsled is a Hybrid

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today I want to share a gorgeous new creme from OPI. This is My Dogsled is a Hybrid. Disclosure: This is a press sample.

I love this color. I think it's perfect for summer and right on into the fall. It's a gorgeous blue green creme and what I love about it is that it doesn't have too much white so it doesn't wash out my skin tone. Sometimes these Tiffany style blues can do that. Not the case here. This stays shiny and perfect. Love it!

Two coats for perfect coverage, no complaints at all about the formula. Love it.

What do you think about this one?

Let me know what you think of this one? I am a huge fan!

Frosty the Snowman Nails

Hi everyone! This is a design inspired by a post by thatleanne  I saw her design and just had to try it myself. I used China Glaze's Sea Spray for the base and China Glaze's Snow Globe for the glitter, and then for the white I used China Glaze's Snow, for the black I used Color Secret's Little Black Book, for the green I used Essie's Pretty Edgy and the orange I used Sally Hansen's Sun Kissed. I am slowly but surely getting better at this  nail art thing.

Hope you enjoy!!! Head over to thaleanne's blog to see how to do this, step by step. If I can do it, so can you!

As always, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog (and to comment, I love comments). It means a lot to me! I hope you have a fantastic holiday, whatever holiday you celebrate!

Zoya: Rocky

Hello beautiful people. It's been a while. So sorry! I have no good excuse to give you, I have just been busy with work. I am loving this job, it's challenging and rewarding. So sometimes I don't have time to post on here. I apologize.

Today I would like to show you Rocky by Zoya. This is a really beautiful robin's egg blue. No, it's not really a fall color, but I don't follow those rules and this one is too gorgeous not to share.

I used two coats for the opacity in the photos. You can see some bald spots, because I wasn't too careful with my application. I think you'd do best with three coats of this one. Other than that the formula is beautiful and the finish is super shiny. Love it!

What do you think of this one?

What are your favorite polishes for fall. I want to hear it! Sound off in the comments! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're all doing well!

Sinful Shine: Blue Suede Shoes and Nouveau Purple

Hello beauties! So sorry I have been slacking with the posting lately. I have been super busy. But here I am with TWO polishes to show you. The first, I bought, the second, was sent to me for review, both are from Sinful Colors' Sinful Shine line.

So first up is Blue Suede Shoes. I got this at Walgreens for around $3.99 (if I remember right, maybe $2.99). This is a really pretty dusty blue color with a creme finish. I love the look of this one, and I think it's quite nice for fall even though it's not a jewel tone like most fall colors tend to be.

The formula is thick and went on opaque in just two coats. I had no issues with application and these really do have a nice shine to them, as the name suggests. I did find that this color in particular wore for several days without chipping which is not always the case with most nail polish so I was impressed with that aspect for sure.

Next up is one of the shades the company sent me for review. This is Nouveau Purple and it's a rich, blackened royal purple creme. My photos are pulling it a bit blue, that always happens and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to correct that, so just know that that color is a true royal purple, blue toned but not blue.

Formula was consistent with the formula of Blue Suede Shoe in that it was thick, but not too thick, and applied with no trouble. Opaque in just two coats this dark color was easy to apply and dried with a really beautiful high shine. Thumbs up!

So, if you've seen Sinful Shine polishes in the drugstore and haven't tried them yet, pick one up! I think they're a great "bang for your buck" polish. I have always been a fan of Sinful Colors and this expansion of the line is a welcome addition to the polishes with a true drugstore price point. These days, drugstore prices are skyrocketing and polish is just as expensive as salon brands, I appreciate that Sinful is making efforts to keep cost down while still providing a high quality product in relevant colors and finishes. Kudos Sinful!

Have you tried this line? What are your favorites?

L.A. Girl: Turntable (Disco Brites)

Hello there everybody! Today I want to share a nail polish I bought several years ago at some random beauty supply store. This is L.A. Girl's Turntable, which is part of their Disco Brites collection. The premise behind that collection is that the colors glow under a black light. Well, it's not 1998, and I don't have a black light handy so I cannot tell you if that is the case, but what I can tell you is that this polish rocks, and so do the other polishes I have tried from the collection.

Turntable is a bright turquoise creme with a super high shine finish, that's what I love about this polish, the finish is just perfect. I used two coats for full opacity and even though my bottle is several years old and well loved, this thing went on like butter. Just lovely.

I have found L.A. Girl polishes at several no name beauty supply stores in my area. You can also purchase them online (for like $4) from places like cherryculture.com. I am a big fan of this line, for the price the quality is just perfect.

What L.A. Girl polishes have you tried? Any recommendations on ones I need in my life?

P.S. now I have the sudden urge to take a walk down memory lane, head to Spencer Gifts, and purchase a black light. LOL ;-)

Dermelect: Fearless

Good morning, afternoon, or evening. I hope you're all having a fantastic week! Today I want to show you a polish I received for consideration from Dermelect. This is Fearless and it's a mid toned blue creme color.

I have talked about Dermelect lacquers before but in case you don't remember here's some information about them: Dermelect polishes are peptide infused, cruelty free,   big 3 free, and designed to strengthen your nails and protect them from UV.  They're supposed to have a long wearing quality, but for me, wear is average, nothing to write home about.

This blue is really pretty and flattering. I love the high shine finish. The formula on this, like other Dermelect polishes I have tried, is great. It's highly pigmented and required only two coats for full opacity. I had no issues with streaking or balding of any kind.

Dermelect nail polish retails for $14 a bottle and can be purchased on their website. Have you tried Dermelect polishes? What are your favorite colors?

Thanks for checking in today! Have a wonderful day!

Color Club: Over the Moon

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well! Today I'd like to show you a color (sent to me for consideration) called Over the Moon by Color Club. Over the Moon is a light blue linear holographic polish.  Holos are just so much fun, when they hit the light it's just a kaleidoscopic of color. What else can I say? So pretty!

This is actually a really opaque, almost one coater! I used two for the opacity shown but if you're super careful you will absolutely be able to get away with one. What's better than that!? No streaking, no balding.

Love this one! How about you?

Well that was short and sweet! I wanted to say hi to you all and thank you, as always for coming and reading the blog. I hope you're all doing well.  I am! I am enjoying my new job and am really excited for what's to come!

What else is going on? Well, I have been told by the Dr. to go gluten-free. What a pain! So I have been doing that, not easily, but doing it. Any of you gluten free? How do you do it? I mean no calzones? No bread basket? No tortillas. It's really sad. I did, however, find a really great bakery nearby that makes killer gluten free cupcakes. One craving satisfied! Any tips are much appreciated.

Until next time, have a fantastic day!

Hillbilly Love Lacquer (Etsy)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a great week. We're finally going to be seeing the sun stick around a bit longer, spring is on the horizon!

Today I want to show you some polishes from the Etsy shop Hillbilly Love Lacquer. The owner, Alisa, is from Tennessee and she's come up with some hilarious creative names for her down home lacquers. You're sure to crack a smile browsing through her shop. All of the polishes are 3-free and sell for $8.50.

The formula on all three of these was different than what I am used to. It's almost gel like (not gel polish like Shellac, but just gel like in texture). I have never experienced a texture like these. Very interesting.  I don't love it but I don't hate it. It's in the middle for me. I applied all three with no real issues so it's all good.

The bottles are really nice looking with professional looking labels featuring the color name and company logo.

First up I have Buckshot (see, told you the names were adorable). This is a blue/grey shimmer with copper glitter. I used two coats for the opacity shown, I think you'd be better off with three.

Next up is Hick-Tastic  LOL. This is a light pink with pink, white and holographic glitter. The glitter in this one is really fun!  I used two coats for the opacity shown. The base is sort of a shimmery jelly so I am not sure more coats would  necessarily equal more opacity

And last but not least is Bluegrass  which is a teal jelly with teal, navy and holographic glitter.  This one is really pretty. Two coats are pictured, I think it's fine with two but three migh be preferable.

Overall, I think this shop has some really unique and cute lacquers, and the names are just hilarious and creative. I don't think any other companies have come up with a similar concept so kudos for originality. If you're looking for something fun, or for a gift to give your redneck friend, this company can provide just that. (LOL).

Have you tried anything from this Etsy shop? Are you interested in trying any of the colors?

Color Club: Beyond

Hi everyone! Are you ready to have your mind blown? Alright, not really, it's just nail polish, but it's pretty beautiful and I am excited about it. This is Beyond  from Color Club. It's an insanely gorgeous deep blue/charcoal/nearly black linear holographic polish. Can you believe your eyes? Stunning. The holographic shimmer is just so beautiful and quite profound in the right lighting.

This beauty went on perfectly in two coats. I had no issues at all with this formula, in fact it was a pleasure to apply. No balding, streaking or pooling. I barely had to do any cleanup with this, which is pretty awesome given the dark color.

Now at first glance you may think this is the same as Color Club's Revvvolution  but Revvvolution's base is much more grey and  the holo is not as strong. In fact, I called Revvolution's holo "subtle" in my review of it back in 2010. Have a look at my old review of Revvvolution here

I don't have much else to say. This is absolutely beautiful. What do you think?
