New York City Ballet by OPI

Hi everyone! I wanted to give you a quick peek at the New York City Ballet collection by OPI.  This collection includes six new additions to OPI's Soft Shades.  One, Pirouette My Whistle is a glittery top coat, the others are sheer shades which make them wonderful for a conservative work place, or a ballerina!

The collection includes:
  • Barre My Soul: This sheer beige is gorgeous, and that’s the “naked” truth.
  • You Callin' Me a Lyre?: This ascending pink hits all the right notes.
  • Don't Touch My Tutu!: Hands off this wispy white -- it's all mine!
  • Care to Danse?: This lilac is up-to-the-minuet in fashion.
  • My Pointe Exactly: See? This gorgeous sheer gray has been right all along!
  • Pirouette My Whistle: Drink up! This silver sparkle is just what you need.
And here they are in all of their glory. Sorry I couldn't get them all in one collage, so you'll see one of the ones with the topcoat is in the wrong collage, but it was the only way I could fit them.

Each color is three coats. Also, with the top coat I had just one coat on top.

So do you like these soft shades? I do, they are all really classy looking and some are even fun! OPI does sheers so well. I love them!

I am interested in knowing if you would like to see complete reviews of each individual polish from this collection (the format of my regular review posts).  Let me know in the comments and be sure to vote on the poll in the side bar.  I would be happy to do full reviews, I just want to make sure it won't bore you since you have seen the colors here. Thanks!

Office Polish-tics

Hi everyone!!! I hope all of you here in the US had a fantastic Thanksgiving, mine was awesome and the best part? No work until Tuesday!!

I thought I'd do something a little different today. At work this week I noticed some of the girls rocking some fun nails designs so I asked them if I could photograph them for the blog. They were good sports so I have two looks to share with you today.  Both girls have their nails done at a salon. Maria has gel and Raquel acrylic.

First up are Maria's nails. Maria is a part time file clerk at my office. She's 19 and has a fun mod style.  is I wish I had the skill to re-create this look because I was drooling over her nails all week. I love this look and I think it looks so cute on her little itty-bitty nails. So jealous of those of you with teeny tiny fingers!!!

Next up is Raquel: Raquel is a paralegal in my office. She doesn't work for me, she works for one of the other attorney's in the office.  Raquel's nails are really cute too and completely fit her style. Raquel is tall, thin and rocks a lot of black; nails scream Raquel to me! She always has fun bold designs on her nails.

So which nails suit your style more? Would you rock either of these looks?

Thanks to Raquel and Maria for letting me feature your looks! Let me know if you would like to see me feature office nail looks more often!

The Classic French Manicure: A Clean & Chic Standby or Tacky and Outdated?

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you all got a day off and didn't have to work. I am enjoying the long weekend and wish it was even  longer.

So today I decided I wanted to do a classic white-tipped french manicure. Now, I know, there's a ton of controversy over this look. Some of us love it, and some HATE it. I have heard so many different opinions on the classic french, so I want to know what you all think! I am going to put up a poll in the sidebar but I want to hear from you in the comments too. What do you think? Is this a clean, classic standby for you or do  you think it's tacky and outdated?

I personally love this look, I always have. I think the white is so chic and it's just a classic look that works in so many situations. They could be everyday go to work nails or wedding day nails. I think the french matches everything and looks elegant and fun! I just know I have heard that people HATE it and think it's trashy so I want to hear what the majority thinks... especially since I know all of my readers are nail polish fanatics like me!
For this look I used one coat OPI's In the Spot-Light Pink for a base and did the tips in Orly's White Tips which is a vibrant true white color. Another similar white is China Glaze's Snow. I love the bright stark white but I know some people enjoy a creamy color on the tips.

So what say you? Love them or hate them? Those who hate them, why? Those who love them, what is your perfect french manicure color combo?

French Manicure - Gina Style

Hiya!!! I was in a boring mood so I did a simple french mani using Orly's White Tips for my tip color. I didn't use a color on my natural nail I just did two coats of the Dermelect Launchpad, did two coats of the White Tips on the tips and topped it all off with Seche Vite topcoat. I think they came out pretty good for having free handed the tips so I thought I'd share.

I have been less successful with the Ruffian style manicure. Tried it twice and FAILED. Any tips?

Let me know how you think my French came out. Thanks for reading - have a wonderful weekend.
