Zoya: Brigitte (Naturel Collection)

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a nice weekend. Hubby and I will be cheering on the 49ers tonight! Who do you want to see in the Super Bowl?

Today I want to show you Zoya's Brigitte, which is from the Naturel collection. It's described as a full coverage mauve creme. While the formulas was great on this one, the color just is not for me. I just think there's something about the way the color looks on my skin that isn't right. Otherwise, it's a good polish, like most of what Zoya has to offer. I used two coats for full opacity with this one, which is great since the color is pretty soft.  Not every color can work on everyone, and that is ok!

Don't mind the smudge on the pointer. I hit my nails on the camera! Oops!

Have you tried this one? Does the color work on your skin tone? I would love to hear your experience with this one!

Jessica: Standing Ovation & Prima Donna

Hello beautiful readers. Today I have two colors that were sent to me from Jessica Cosmetics.

First up is Standing Ovation. Which is a peridot green frost color. I think the color is really pretty, and would be nice for winter, but I do not love the finish. This is extremely frosty and, as you can see from my photos, every brush stroke shows. If it didn't show the streaks it would be just beautiful. I used two coats for full opacity.

Next up is Prima Donna which is a really pretty royal purple frost/shimmer.  This one is slightly less frosty than Standing Ovation but still what I could consider a frost. I had less of an issue with streaks than I did with Standing Ovation.

I really love the color of this one. It's got such a pretty shimmer too. When applying just use some extra care and you can avoid a real streaky mess. This is two coats and fully opaque.

Overall these are really pretty colors but I am not a fan of the finish of Standing Ovation. What do you think of these? Do you have any tips for avoiding brush strokes on a frost?

Sinful Shine: Blue Suede Shoes and Nouveau Purple

Hello beauties! So sorry I have been slacking with the posting lately. I have been super busy. But here I am with TWO polishes to show you. The first, I bought, the second, was sent to me for review, both are from Sinful Colors' Sinful Shine line.

So first up is Blue Suede Shoes. I got this at Walgreens for around $3.99 (if I remember right, maybe $2.99). This is a really pretty dusty blue color with a creme finish. I love the look of this one, and I think it's quite nice for fall even though it's not a jewel tone like most fall colors tend to be.

The formula is thick and went on opaque in just two coats. I had no issues with application and these really do have a nice shine to them, as the name suggests. I did find that this color in particular wore for several days without chipping which is not always the case with most nail polish so I was impressed with that aspect for sure.

Next up is one of the shades the company sent me for review. This is Nouveau Purple and it's a rich, blackened royal purple creme. My photos are pulling it a bit blue, that always happens and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to correct that, so just know that that color is a true royal purple, blue toned but not blue.

Formula was consistent with the formula of Blue Suede Shoe in that it was thick, but not too thick, and applied with no trouble. Opaque in just two coats this dark color was easy to apply and dried with a really beautiful high shine. Thumbs up!

So, if you've seen Sinful Shine polishes in the drugstore and haven't tried them yet, pick one up! I think they're a great "bang for your buck" polish. I have always been a fan of Sinful Colors and this expansion of the line is a welcome addition to the polishes with a true drugstore price point. These days, drugstore prices are skyrocketing and polish is just as expensive as salon brands, I appreciate that Sinful is making efforts to keep cost down while still providing a high quality product in relevant colors and finishes. Kudos Sinful!

Have you tried this line? What are your favorites?

OPI Liquid Sand: Alcatraz...Rocks

I will admit that while I am a fan of the textured matte trend (Liquid Sand, Pixie Dust etc.) I am starting to get slightly annoyed with the sheer amount of polishes coming out with that finish. Calm down, stop shoving it down our throats. I have to say though, this one is a masterpiece...

Ladies and gentleman  I present to you: Alcatraz...Rocks from the OPI San Francisco Collection.  What a stunner! I am not sure it gets more beautiful than the royal purple packed with tons of holographic particles. I cannot even describe this beauty!

I knew right when I took this out of the box it came in that I was going to love it. What's not to love? Purple, check! Holo, check! It's an all around beautiful and unique offering from OPI.

This is a Liquid Sand finish, which is a textured matte. I find these to go on very easily and dry quickly without the assistance of a top coat. A shiny topcoat will change the finish of these so avoid it unless you want to make it shiny. I used two coats for opacity here and it's perfect!

So am I getting slightly bored with this type of finish? Yup! But I do love this polish and get so excited when something truly unique finds its way to my collection. I think you all need this color, especially if you're a purple lover like me!

Pixi: Wakeup Wisteria

I told you I would post a polish so here it is! This is a stunner! This is Wakeup Wisteria by Pixi. This is an absolutely gorgeous  purple creme color. This is my kind of color! This is my favorite type of purple and this one is perfect.

I used two coats for the opacity shown and this was perfectly smooth and shiny! I had no issues with application whatsoever, it just went on perfectly.  I love it so much! You can get Pixi polishes at Target stores. They're pricey but worth it when you find a unique color.

Do you love this as much as I do?!

Pixi: Wakeup Wisteria

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! Today I have a simply beautiful purple creme to show you! If you've been reading my blog for a while you know that I love purple cremes! This one is absolutely stunning!

This is Wakeup Wisteria by Pixi. The name totally reminds me of Desperate Housewives! I received this for consideration. This color is just perfect for me. It's a light blue toned purple. You'd think with all of the purple colors I have that I would have a dupe, but I have nothing like this at all! I love when that happens!

The formula on this is fantastic! Some Pixi polishes that are on the bright side have too much white in the base and appear neon, not so with this one! This is just the perfect balance! I had no issues with application and I found this to be so easy to work with. I used two coats for full opacity and it was just perfect! I love the high shine finish!

I have nothing bad to say about this one! It's stunning. I love love love love love this! LOL Pixi is a bit expensive and can be purchased at Target. What do you think of this one?

OPI: You're Such a Budapest

Good morning everyone! Today I have a really pretty spring color to share with you from the OPI Euro Centrale collection. This item was provided to me for consideration by OPI's PR. (Disclosure Policy).

This is You're Such a Budapest which is a lilac jelly color. I love the color but the formula needs work. It's extremely sheer, as you can see from the swatches. I used two coats for the photos shown below but you absolutely need three or more for this one to look great.  Don't get me wrong, I love jellies, but this one was not so easy to apply because it's quite milky. You can see the balding in the photos below.

See what I mean? I do LOVE the color though so I will make this work! What do you think of this one?

OPI Liquid Sand: Can't Let Go

Hi everyone.  I am super bummed out this morning at the 49ers loss in the Super Bowl last night. They were not themselves last night and made lots of stupid mistakes and got a ton of silly penalties. I am impressed with their come back in the 2nd half, after the black out (Crazy huh?!) but it wasn't enough to prevail. What a bummer.

So today, since the Ravens won last night, I guess I will show you a purple. This is OPI's Liquid Sand in Can't Let Go.  It's a royal purple matte shimmer.  It's absolutely beautiful! Sometimes my camera wants to make these purples more blue than they are but I think for the most part I captured the true color of this one today.

I had no issues with application. I used two coats for the opacity shown. I had no balding, no streaking and no visible nail line. This is a solid polish.

So have you tried the Liquid Sands colors? I have featured them all now. Which is your favorite?
