Milani Baked Blushes in Fantastico Mauve and Dolce Pink

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today I wanted to show you some fun makeup products available at your local drugstore. Milani has really stepped up it's game recently and one of the newest, the baked blush, is really impressive.

Here's what the packaging looks like when the product is closed:

I am not going to lie, I don't LOVE the gold shiny packaging but it's not going to change my impression of the product.  I did not take photos of the underside, I should have. The bottom opens to reveal a small brush. I, like most people, don't use those brushes, they tend to be scratchy and oddly shaped. I would use it in a pinch though and might be good for light traveling.

The two colors I got are Fantastico Mauve and Dolce Pink. As you can see in the photos each is rich and marbled.  Fantastico Mauve gives a dark plum color to the cheeks. It might look intimidatingly dark but it's really quite flattering on the skin. Dolce Pink  is a light fresh pink that adds life to dull skin.  I really love them both. Both shades are shimmery but not overtly so. I didn't find them to be chunky glitter just an overall shimmery sheen. I like the effect but it might not be for everyone.

I did not include swatches because they're blush. You don't wear them heavily swatched right? I supposed I could have taken a full face photo but I did not.

According to Milani these are baked on Italian Terracotta stones.  If you've used baked products before, like MAC mineralized skin finishes, you'll know what type of texture to expect from these.

Overall I am impressed with these. I think they are nicely pigmented with good color pay off and I enjoy the shimmery finish they create. I think they're priced fairly and are great quality.

These retail for around $7.99 each and can be found on Milani's website or at your local drugstores. I find Milani at CVS and Walgreens consistently. The drugstores always have great sales like buy one get one half off so you can't go wrong picking one up.

Have you tried these? What do you think of them?

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween readers! Are you doing anything fun for Halloween? I'm not sure what we're doing yet, I am going to attempt to dress up like a vampire or something. Who knows.

I wanted to show you my Halloween Manicure. I got the idea for the Frankenstein nail from the lovely Goldiestarling on Youtube. Check out her amazing tutorial for a way better version of these cool nails. I suck at nail art so these are sort of messy but festive none the less.

Milani: Bare to Wear

Happy Friday readers! I hope you're all ready for a great weekend. This weekend my husband and I are going to a Yankees/Red Sox game and then on Sunday it's our nephew/godson's Christening. So we have a busy weekend planned. I am excited.

Today I want to share one of my favorite new Milani colors. This is Bare to Wear which came out recently with a collection of several other nudes. This one is a gorgeous gray with, call me crazy, a little bit of a pinkish/purple tint. I really enjoy this color. It's so pretty and shiny! Can you see how this is sort of lavender-y? I just love colors that have a sort of dual look to them. It's a creme so it has no shimmer or frost. I love cremes!

This formula is wonderful. Milani's polishes have gotten better over the years, I am quite impressed with this. It went on smoothly, it was opaque in just two coats and it has a great high shine to it. I love it!

So what do you think? Are you a fan of this color? I love it. I purchased this and Teddy Bare from CVS for $4.95 each. This week they were BOGO 50% off, so if you run there before Sunday you can get the same deal.

Milani: " Cyberspace"

I hope everyone had a great weekend. My husband and I went to Howe Caverns in upstate New York with two friends of us. We had a blast and though it's been commercialized the cave was still incredibly beautiful and memorable. Fun times!

Today I have another Milani holo to share with you. This is Cyberspace a gorgeous cornflower blue holographic polish. I really think this is my favorite one from the collection, the color is just so beautiful.

The formula is nice. It took three coats for opacity, which is what it took for me to make Hi Res opaque as well but it's not quite as thin as Hi Res was but close. Not problematic really. The result is gorgeous. I just love holos.

Isn't it so pretty? You can get Milani polishes at several drug stores like Walgreens, CVS and Walmart for around $4.50.

I just love holos. I need more! I am going to have to splurge on some Nfu-Oh holos I think! Those look amazing!!!!

Until next time, thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!

Milani "Hi Res"

Hi everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your week. Today is my kitten Deuce's first birthday! Time flies! We got him when he was just three months old, now he's a year! I love that guy! :-) Happy First Birthday Deucey! :-)

Today I have a gorgeous holo polish to share with you from Milani. I have been eying this color every time I go into CVS and I finally broke down and bought it one day. Of course there was no sale going on when I decided I NEEDED it but what can you do right?!?!

Hi Res is a gorgeous lilac holo polish. It's just so darn beautiful in any lighting. I took some indoor pics to try and capture what it looks like inside, holos are very difficult to capture. This one is just so pretty, it has that oil slick look to it in the right lighting. I can't help but stare at my nails whenever I wear good holo polish.

The formula on this one was on the thin side and did require 3 coats for opacity and to correct any balding that occurred. Other than that it wasn't difficult to work with. I love that this LOOKS like a glitter polish but it is in fact perfectly smooth. I think that is so trippy.

I love this polish! I cannot wait to try their other holos. It's such beautiful formula to look at. What are some of your favorite holos (from any brand)?

Super Bowl XLIV Who Dat! Geaux Saints!

It's Super Bowl Sunday and to get into the sprirt of things I tried my hand at some BASIC nail art. I tried to Konad, once again and I failed. I give up, I am throwing that crap away! So I was a little lazy about this. I painted my nails with Milani "Black Magic" and then just free handed with China Glaze "2030". Nothing fancy but it will do!

Now I have been a Saints fan my whole life and being from New England I stand alone up here. I've been made fun of for years because the Saints were never that good. This is out year baby! We deserve this Super Bowl and win or lose it's been a heck of a season!

Who are you rooting for?

Geaux Saints! Who Dat!?!?!
