Jason Wu and CND Collaborate on Nail Color Collection

September 10, 2010, New York, New York - Fashion designer Jason Wu is collaborating with runway manicure leader CND to introduce a limited edition Jason Wu Collection that honors iconic women through wearable, timeless shades. The set will come with 4 Colours and 1 Effect that can be layered to achieve the designer's effortless yet elegant nail styles.

"Every season I play with different ways of using color in my collection, so it was a natural choice to collaborate with CND on a capsule of nail colors that reflects my aesthetics. Included in the set is my signature gray color," says Jason Wu.

These fabulously femme Colours provide rich coverage and everyday accessibility:

· Miss Wu - Jason's signature limestone, warm gray that dries matte with subtle chrome sheen, in perfect harmony of masculinity and femininity

· Brigitte - voluptuous warm pink that perfectly channels 50's screen siren

· Sophia - gorgeous mushroom taupe

· Veronica - highlights the evolution of decadence with a blue-based, oxblood red

· Anna Effect - layered over any of the four Colours provides a tweed finish via microscopic fibrous pieces that create cool, subtle texture

Jason Wu and CND have joined forces on the runway for the past eight seasons. This color collection is Jason Wu's first foray into nail products, and CND's first designer product partnership. The full collection will be introduced at Jason Wu's Spring 2011 runway show where audience members will receive a complimentary set.

Cult Nails Press Release: R3Daily's New Polish Line

I was very excited to see this press release in my Google Reader this afternoon. Maria at R3Daily is starting her very own nail polish line! I am so excited to see a fellow blogger make her dreams come true and I am happy to have known her from the start ;-) Don't forget about us when this makes you a household name like Essie or OPI girl!!!

When Maria first started blogging I had the pleasure of featuring her in one of my Interview with a Polish Blogger segments. You can read Maria's interview here. One interesting fact is that right before Maria first started R3Daily she visited a psychic and the psychic totally foreshadowed what was to come. Maria had been contemplating blogging about lacquer for a while and the psychic totally felt that. You can read more about that experience in her interview.

I wanted to share Maria's press release with you all (though I do imagine most of you follow her fantastic blog).

Cult Nails Press Release:

August 31, 2010 Nail polish blogger R3 Daily announces a new nail polish line, Cult Nails. Maria Morrison is the blogger of R3 Daily and creator of Cult Nails. The polish line will be B3 Free which means it does not contain formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phtalate. Cult Nails polish line is also camphor free, cruelty free and considered a vegan friendly product. "When creating this line it was important to me that not only can I safely wear it, but so can my daughters."

The line will launch in early 2011 with only three colors. Cult Nails will continue to introduce colors to the line throughout each fashion season in 2011. Maria stated that "While I was very excited about the opportunity, I had to be realistic in what I could bring to the table. A small line with a limited collection is a perfect introduction for Cult Nails. The focus is on creating trend setting polish colors that are fun and safe while taking an earth friendly stance in everything we do" In fact Cult Nails commitment to being earth friendly means removing unnecessary packaging, using boxes for shipping that are made from 100% recycled materials and shipping packages with reusable packing materials, like cotton balls.

The three introductory shades will retail for $10 per bottle and will include a vibrant holographic red aptly named "Follow Me", a true grey purple creme with a subtle shimmer named "My Kind of Cool Aid" and a yet to be chosen color that R3 Daily's blog followers will have an opportunity to create. Maria's goal is to involve the polish blogging community in the creation of this new line, "Polish bloggers and followers are the most amazing group of women I have seen. They are so supportive of each other and have amazing ideas when it comes to polish. I can't wait to see what they create! This line isn't just for me, it's for all of us!"

For more information on R3 Daily or Cult nails go to: http://www.r3daily.com/ or http://www.cultnails.com/
So be sure to check out her website and enter the contest for your chance to have your color be a part of Cult Nails inaugural line.

Congratulations Maria. I am excited to see where this polish line goes and I wish you continued success in the process. It's amazing to see someone's dreams come true and truly inspirational to all of us who have big ideas.

Essie: Sew Psyched (The Fall Collection)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I did! My amazing husband bought me a new car. He is really the best. I was driving a beat up 1999 Mercury Cougar which was on its way out so my hubby treated me to a new whip! I love him! I am so greatful and excited. I am now the proud owner of a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi. It's a new model that just came out this year. I love it! It's the perfect car for me. Perfect size, nice and sporty. I have never had a new car before so this is a huge treat. I am no longer embarrassed of my vehicle LOL. It's so pretty, I will take some pics soon. It's dark gray with black interior. I am so excited to drive around in this baby! Cheers to a great weekend and a wonderful husband!

Today I have another color to share from Essie's Fall Collection. This is Sew Psyched it's a gorgeous grey-green. Essie calls this color a "cashmere-soft sage pewter" and I can get behind that description. In some lights it looks gray and it others it's clearly a green. I just love this color and I think it's the stand out from this collection for sure.

The formula is wonderful. It's a great creme that goes on smooth and isn't too thin or too thick. I love cremes and this is no exception. It was nearly opaque in one coat, two coats leaves it perfectly opaque with no streaking or bald spots. I love two coaters!

These might not be my best swatches. This was the first sunny day in a while and I took these in a different location (the top of the court parking lot on my way into "work"). I need to stick to my usual swatching location I think.

As always, click on the images to enlarge.

So are you digging Sew Psyched as much as I am? I really love this color. I think you need to see it in real life to really appreciate it's beauty and uniqueness.

This collection is set to launch on September 1, 2010 but I do believe some Ulta stores have it out already (I noticed they tend to do that sometimes). Polishes retail for $8 a pop.

Essie Merino Cool and a Possible Chanel Paradoxal Dupe

Hello readers! I hope all is well. Sorry it's been a slow week but I didn't have much sun here this week so I wasn't able to take any new photos and didn't have any posts lined up. My bad! I received the Essie Fall Collection and I am excited to share this with you. I think the colors in this collection are really beautiful and perfect for fall.

Today I want to show you one of the gorgeous colors from Essie's Fall Collection. This is Merino Cool: Essie describes this as a "sensuous autumn mulberry" whatever that means LOL. It's a purple/grey color reminiscent of Sephora by OPI Metro Chic. I love colors like this so I am really happy with the color.

The formula on this was quite nice. No problems to report. I am generally a big fan of Essie and this is no exception.

Now I may have a possible Chanel Paradoxal dupe here though I am positive that my photos are not good quality at all because they were taken in overcast sort of dreary weather. However, use your imagination and you may have yourself a little dupe here. I used Merino Cool with the CND effect in Amethyst Sparkle and I swear in real life it's close to Paradoxal.

See Vampy Varnish's swatches of Paradoxal here.

What do you think of Merino Cool? What other colors from the Fall Collection are you excited about? Is this combo a close enough dupe for you? I think it is for me. I don't want to shell out Chanel money for that color LOL I am too cheap.

Have a great day!

China Glaze Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen: "Hey Doll"

Hey Dolls! haha, I am so cheesy! The color to share today is Hey Doll by China Glaze, it's part of their Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen collection. Enjoy!

Hey Doll is described as a "rose frost with shimmer" and I think that's accurate. It reminds me of rose gold in some way. It's a gorgeous rose/mauve color which I think really is very work friendly but pretty and interesting at the same time. It's one of the more boring in the collection but I still love it. I need colors like this in my collection.

The formula is the same as the others in the collection, wonderful. I really enjoy the polishes in this collection. China Glaze consistently impresses me with their polishes and this collection and this color is no exception. Well done, easy to work with. Good stuff.

Are you a fan of Hey Doll? Is this the type of color you'd wear?

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend.

China Glaze Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection: Emerald Fitzgerald

Hi everyone! Today I have another Fall 2010 China Glaze color to share with you all. Sorry it takes me so long to get the whole collection up but I like to do one color at at time most of the time.

Emerald Fitzgerald is described as a "turquoise green frost with shimmer" which is exactly accurate. It reminds me a bit of peacock feathers. It leans towards blue so it's a nice blue green color, it's really pretty.

Formula was good like the rest I have tried so far. Frosts are usually streaky but this is not. No streaks, no balding, opaque in two coats. I like it.

I think a lot of people will love this color. Greens are really popular and this one is pretty unique since it leans towards blue. I think it's nice for fall and into the winter. What do you think?

Thanks for reading everyone! Have a wonderful day!

China Glaze Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection: Jitterbug

Hello my friends! I've got another China Glaze fall color to share with you. This is Jitterbug which is a "gray chrome with silver microglitter". This color is beautiful. It's got the same sort of finish that Swing Baby has which is really a lovely metallic/foil sort of finish. Really gorgeous to look at.

I can't help but chuckle at the name because we call my dad's cell phone the Jitterbug. I am not sure if you've seen the commercials marketed at older folks for the Jitterbug cell phone but we call my dad's phone the Jitterbug because it's an old school flip phone. He refuses to upgrade. He's tried and always goes back to his beloved flip. Though his phone is touch more advanced than the true Jitterbug (it texts and takes pics LOL) it's still reminiscent.

Like the rest of the collection I have tried so far this one has a nice consistency. It applies really beautifully. It's smooth and I had no issues with streaking or bald spots. I really enjoy the finish of this one. Like I said before I think China Glaze really stepped up their game with frosts on this collection. I am very impressed.

I think this is one of the must haves of the collection. What do you think?

Have a beautiful day!
