Sinful Shine: Blue Suede Shoes and Nouveau Purple

Hello beauties! So sorry I have been slacking with the posting lately. I have been super busy. But here I am with TWO polishes to show you. The first, I bought, the second, was sent to me for review, both are from Sinful Colors' Sinful Shine line.

So first up is Blue Suede Shoes. I got this at Walgreens for around $3.99 (if I remember right, maybe $2.99). This is a really pretty dusty blue color with a creme finish. I love the look of this one, and I think it's quite nice for fall even though it's not a jewel tone like most fall colors tend to be.

The formula is thick and went on opaque in just two coats. I had no issues with application and these really do have a nice shine to them, as the name suggests. I did find that this color in particular wore for several days without chipping which is not always the case with most nail polish so I was impressed with that aspect for sure.

Next up is one of the shades the company sent me for review. This is Nouveau Purple and it's a rich, blackened royal purple creme. My photos are pulling it a bit blue, that always happens and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to correct that, so just know that that color is a true royal purple, blue toned but not blue.

Formula was consistent with the formula of Blue Suede Shoe in that it was thick, but not too thick, and applied with no trouble. Opaque in just two coats this dark color was easy to apply and dried with a really beautiful high shine. Thumbs up!

So, if you've seen Sinful Shine polishes in the drugstore and haven't tried them yet, pick one up! I think they're a great "bang for your buck" polish. I have always been a fan of Sinful Colors and this expansion of the line is a welcome addition to the polishes with a true drugstore price point. These days, drugstore prices are skyrocketing and polish is just as expensive as salon brands, I appreciate that Sinful is making efforts to keep cost down while still providing a high quality product in relevant colors and finishes. Kudos Sinful!

Have you tried this line? What are your favorites?

Azature: Light Gray

Hello beauties. Ever fantasized about a nail polish full of diamonds? Well Azature is a brand known for creating a nail polish full of black diamonds, a $250,000.00 nail polish. Crazy extravagant. They've now launched a line of polishes, sans price tag, containing a single black diamond in each bottle. I had the chance to sample two colors and today I am going to show you Light Gray from the line. You can read more about the brand on their Facebook page.

Light Gray is exactly what the name implies. It's a light gray creme with no shimmer particles. I am a sucker for these shades and this one is very pretty.  This is a really pretty polish but nothing unique in the color area.  My swatch photos are not really up to snuff, so I apologize, IDK what the problem is with my camera lately.

Formula on this is rich and pigmented. It's nearly opaque in just one coat, but I did two for good measure.

This is a solid offering from the brand but at $25.00 a bottle it's certainly no friend to my wallet. I would consider shelling out the $25.00 for a truly unique color but for the everyday colors it's a little high for me. I guess they justify the price by telling you there's a real black diamond inside, and I am sure it's there but what good is it doing me in there? I would like to see it though. Someday when I finish the bottle I guess. LOL.

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was low key and I got to spend a lot of time with my hubby so I can't complain. This coming weekend we have a wedding and a Christening *twins*, so we should be super busy. Can't wait! Hope the weather cooperates. It's cooling down here, which is nice, as long as it's not too cold!

Precision: Sage

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend! Today I want to give a special shout out to two very dear friends of mine, Sarah and Pat. It's Sarah and Pat's 7th wedding anniversary! They just recently added a baby boy to their family so they have a lot to celebrate. Happy Anniversary Pat and Sarah, cheers to many more anniversary celebrations to come. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your big 5 year celebration in Disney two years ago. We had the most fantastic time with good company. I will never forget the boys launching Buzz Lightyear off of the balcony! "To Infinity and Beyond". Love you guys!

Today's nail polish is one I received from the brand Precision and it's in the color, Sage. This is a gorgeous muddy green color and sage is simply to perfect name for it. I love the look of this one. It's smokey and sexy. I am a huge fan of greens and grays on my nails and this is the perfect marriage between the two. It works like a neutral with a kick. This color has a subtle green microshimmer throughout that captures the light and adds interest to the color. It's really beautiful!

I used two coats for full opacity and had no issues with application  I did have to trim a stray brush hair that was longer than the rest but it was no biggie, I just used some eyebrow scissors and snipped it away. I tried to leave it there but it made a mess.  This is the second Precision color I have reviewed and I am really enjoying what this brand has to offer.

See how sometimes it looks grey and sometimes it looks green? Cool right? I dig it. What do you think of Sage

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to stop by and read the blog. It means the world to me. I love chatting with you all in the comments so don't be shy!

Zoya: London (Pixie Dust)

Hi all! Today I have another one of the Zoya Pixie Dust polishes to share with you. This was sent to me for consideration. This is London which is a slate grey textured matte color.

I have already told you how much I love this new finish trend and this one is no exception. I just love how this finish looks on the nail. I cannot wait to see more ASAP.

I love grey and this is a nice mid toned one.
It is perfectly opaque in just two coats. It dries quickly and to keep the integrity of the finish you must skip a top coat.

What do you think? Do you love this trend as much as I do?

In other news, I have a new niece and nephew. My sister in law had TWINS on Thursday  Here's a pic of Anthony and Aria :-) Big brother PJ loves "his babies"!

SpaRitual: Conglomerate

Good morning everyone! I hope you're all having a great day! Before I get into the nail polish I want to share a photos from  my weekend. My close friend Sarah is having a baby and Sunday was her baby shower! He's a great photo of me with my fellow Disney Brides. We all had a Disney wedding and met and became great friends because of it. I love these ladies.

Me, Kathy, Sarah, Danni and Jessica:

So on to the nail polish. I purchased this polish months ago and haven't gotten around to wearing it until now.  This is SpaRitual's Conglomerate

Conglomerate is a charcoal color with a gold shimmer and silver and black glitter. This is a really interesting color combo and I don't have anything else like it in my collection at all. The gold shimmer really makes this very interesting.  I love this color!

The formula is a bit tricky to deal with. It's really thick and gooey. I used two coats for opacity and had no issues with balding or streaking. The wear on this wasn't great and around day 3 I was able to peel all of it off.

What do you think of this one? Do you have a favorite from SpaRitual? I don't see the line around a lot but they do have some fantastic and unique colors.

Hillbilly Love Lacquer (Etsy)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a great week. We're finally going to be seeing the sun stick around a bit longer, spring is on the horizon!

Today I want to show you some polishes from the Etsy shop Hillbilly Love Lacquer. The owner, Alisa, is from Tennessee and she's come up with some hilarious creative names for her down home lacquers. You're sure to crack a smile browsing through her shop. All of the polishes are 3-free and sell for $8.50.

The formula on all three of these was different than what I am used to. It's almost gel like (not gel polish like Shellac, but just gel like in texture). I have never experienced a texture like these. Very interesting.  I don't love it but I don't hate it. It's in the middle for me. I applied all three with no real issues so it's all good.

The bottles are really nice looking with professional looking labels featuring the color name and company logo.

First up I have Buckshot (see, told you the names were adorable). This is a blue/grey shimmer with copper glitter. I used two coats for the opacity shown, I think you'd be better off with three.

Next up is Hick-Tastic  LOL. This is a light pink with pink, white and holographic glitter. The glitter in this one is really fun!  I used two coats for the opacity shown. The base is sort of a shimmery jelly so I am not sure more coats would  necessarily equal more opacity

And last but not least is Bluegrass  which is a teal jelly with teal, navy and holographic glitter.  This one is really pretty. Two coats are pictured, I think it's fine with two but three migh be preferable.

Overall, I think this shop has some really unique and cute lacquers, and the names are just hilarious and creative. I don't think any other companies have come up with a similar concept so kudos for originality. If you're looking for something fun, or for a gift to give your redneck friend, this company can provide just that. (LOL).

Have you tried anything from this Etsy shop? Are you interested in trying any of the colors?

Color Club: Beyond

Hi everyone! Are you ready to have your mind blown? Alright, not really, it's just nail polish, but it's pretty beautiful and I am excited about it. This is Beyond  from Color Club. It's an insanely gorgeous deep blue/charcoal/nearly black linear holographic polish. Can you believe your eyes? Stunning. The holographic shimmer is just so beautiful and quite profound in the right lighting.

This beauty went on perfectly in two coats. I had no issues at all with this formula, in fact it was a pleasure to apply. No balding, streaking or pooling. I barely had to do any cleanup with this, which is pretty awesome given the dark color.

Now at first glance you may think this is the same as Color Club's Revvvolution  but Revvvolution's base is much more grey and  the holo is not as strong. In fact, I called Revvolution's holo "subtle" in my review of it back in 2010. Have a look at my old review of Revvvolution here

I don't have much else to say. This is absolutely beautiful. What do you think?

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Happy Saturday! I am on a roll today folks! Take a look at this stunner from the OPI Skyfall Collection  This is On Her Majesty's Secret Service which is an odd name but a breath taking color. This reminds me of Zoya's Fei Fei but it's more grey so a bit darker. I believe OPI describes this as a pewter (don't quote me). To me it's a gorgeous smoky, steel blue/grey with tons of shimmers. I guess it's a foil but I stink at deciding what finish a polish is. Bad nail polish blogger! Bad!

This one was perfect in two coats which is an achievement for a polish with this finish. Usually there are some balding issues but this one was richly pigmented and went on perfectly. I am in love with this color.

What do you think? This is a winner in my book. I just love it. It's a plus that the formula rocks too.

I saw a lot of my Facebook friends doing 30 days of Thanks so I decided I would too. Here are my first three days of thanks:

Day 1) I am thankful that my friends and family are all safe after hurricane Sandy, especially those in NJ and NY. While some of them may be having a tough time right now they are all alive and getting trough it.

Day 2) I am thankful for my wonderful, supportive, handsome, funny, kind, generous husband. Without him I would not be who I am today. He encourages me to go after my dreams and without him I am not sure I'd have the courage. I don't know if I tell him enough how much I truly appreciate him but I do! ♥

Day 3) I am thankful for my parents. Without them I obviously wouldn't be here but beyond the whole being born thing they have done so much more for me than any parent is obliged to do for their child. Thanks mom and dad!

What are you thankful for?
