FTC Update to Disclosure Regulations

Good morning beauties. I just wanted to briefly discuss the new FTC disclosure regulations with you all.  You can read the official document here if you wish.

The FTC wants to make sure that blog readers are aware when bloggers receive free items for consideration and when they use affiliate links. Here's my policy, which you can read more about here (I have always had this disclosure available to you at the top of my page and periodically update it. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask). This has been the rule since 2009 but apparently the FTC thinks we need really really really make sure you know! So this is a reminder of how I have been disclosing.

As I am sure you're all aware, bloggers often receive product samples from companies and PR representative for consideration. I ALWAYS let you know when that is the case. Here's what you will see in my blog, under my "thanks for reading banner" whenever I feature an item that was provided to me for free:

Disclosure: This product was provided by PR for review purposes. All reviews are 100% honest and done at my discretion. For more information please see my Disclosure Policy

I decide what to review on my blog and what to say about it. I take pride in my honest reviews and if I don't like something I will say it. Receiving the product for free has absolutely no impact on if I chose to review it or what I chose to say about it in a review. Again, this is covered on my disclosure page in greater detail.

An affiliate link is a link that some bloggers use within a post to direct you to a product mentioned in the post. If the reader clicks on that link AND makes a purchase, affiliates receive some sort of commission.  In my Zoya reviews I used Zoya's "Share the Love" link, and when I do I always make sure to note that in the disclosure I showed you above. I do not get money for that, I can earn points if people make a purchase through that link, but to be honest I have never even used any points, nor have I even earned many. The Zoya Share the Love Program is available to ANYONE who shops Zoya.  The only other link in my profile that can benefit me is the Ebates link I have in my side bar. I can earn cash for referring people to Ebates - only if they sign up through that link. (Which you should do, Ebates is amazing). I want you all to be aware of this so I have added "Referral Link" above that to make sure it's always clear. Again, this is a program open to any Ebates user, not just bloggers. If the time comes that I use other affiliate links I will be sure to let you all know what they are.

All other links you see on my site, to shops, products, blogs etc. are just standard links that earn nothing. Just helping you find products featured.

I hope this is all clear to you all. The disclosure of free products has always been present on this blog, as well as the general disclosure policy at the top of the page. If you haven't seen that until now, I am sorry, but here's a reminder that it's there for your benefit. I want you to read my reviews, know where I got the products, know what I think, and make an informed decision. I am not a salesperson, I am just a girl who loves nail polish and wants to share it with the world.

Here are a few other bloggers from the Beauty Blog Coalition who have posted on the recent FTC changes, please be sure to check our their posts for some great information  I will do my best to update the list as more bloggers post:

Ten (More) Things that Make me Happy! TAG!

I was tagged by the lovely Polish'd Cindy  a while back for the Happy 101 tag. Thanks girl! I did this tag a while back so please see those answers if you'd like to know even more about me. That original one was just ten random facts so yay for different answers.  Please see the link below to the top 10 things that make me happy! If someone else tagged me with this same tag please accept my apologies I have a hard time keeping track. Let me know in the comments and I will give you a shout out!

So, rules of the tag are as follows:

1. Copy the award image into a post

2. Then list 10 things that make you happy
3. Tag 10 bloggers who brighten your day
4. Put in a link to their blogs
5. Notify the award receivers
6. Award recipients must link back to sender’s blog

Want to know the TOP TEN things that make me happy? Check out this tag post a while back. I would consider those the top then things that make me happy, becuse  mean comeone how can the list be complete without my husband, cats and Disney World!? This tag will be ten more things that make me happy.

Ten (more) Things that Make Me Happy:

1. The perfect bubble bath. I can sit in a great bubble bath for hours reading a good book. Waste of hot water? Sure, but relaxing and rejuvenating yes!

2. My new nephew/godson. My brother in law and his wife just had their first child in June.  My husband and I are lucky enough to be his Godparents and he's just the sweetest baby. He's totally made me like kids, lol and if you knew me you'd know that's a big deal. When he smiles it puts a huge smile on my face and I can't wait to watch him grow up, even though it makes me feel old!  Photo: My nephew PJ and his daddy on Halloween. He was dressed as one of the three little pigs, the other two were their dogs in piggie costumes. His dad had a big bad wolf mask!

3. Candle tarts! I love a good scent.  Scents can set the mood. You can be energized, relaxed or reminded of the perfect Christmas. Scent memory is so strong.  I love tarts from Cross Creek Country Candles.  I have been ordering from Deana at Cross Creek for years and I feel like I know her so well even though we have never met. I love the Funnel Cake scent and I even created two custom scents which made it to her permanent line: Pink Sugar Rush (Pink Sugar and Funnel Cake blend) and Private Cabana (Blood Orange and Coconut Milk blend). Getting a box of tarts from Deana makes me happy. I have an order in right now for some holiday scents and I cannot wait until it lands on my doorstep.

4. The library! Hello, FREE BOOKS. I mean really, can you beat that? I really hope e-books don't take over because there's nothing like a good physical book. I love my local library it saves so much money!

5. Hiking. I love hiking with my husband. We sometimes go with friends or family and it's a blast. I twisted my ankle pretty badly in August and we didn't get to go as much as we usually do in the summer but the weather is cooling down and my ankle is about 90% better so maybe we can fit a few good hikes in here or there. We just enjoy being outside and chat about life. I  love it.

6. A clean house. I don't like to actually clean the house but I sure love when my house is clean!

7. Getting compliments on my nails. You all know I spend a ton of time on my nails so it's nice when people who don't know that notice my efforts.  I love getting a random compliment on my nails, weather it be from the cashier at the grocery store, some random person at Starbucks or a friend. It gives me a little smile to know I am not just doing this for myself.

8.  A good sale. Come on, don't we all love a good sale. I got a $94 dress for $7.99 at the outlet shops a while back, it made my day! I wore it to a friend's Engagement Party last night and got tons of compliments. I wanted to shout "ONLY 8 BUCKS!" but I used some restraint.

9. Photos. I need to take more but I love looking at photos of my loved ones.  Sometimes it's hard to get everyone to pose and if I am the one taking pics I am not in any so that sucks but I do love pictures.

10.  Christmas. Christmas time bring back so many great memories so it's hard not to be happy that time of year. It's sometimes stressful but always beautiful. The best part of Christmas? Sipping hot cocoa and laughing my ass off for the 1002859358th time as Clark W. Griswold tries to host the perfect holiday! Gets me every time.

That's 10!

Tag, you're it! Here are 10 blogs that brighten my day:
1. Varnish Vixen
2. Mocha Mish Mash
3. Kitschy Suburbia
4. Nails by Bellan
5. Also Known  As...

Cult Nails Press Release: R3Daily's New Polish Line

I was very excited to see this press release in my Google Reader this afternoon. Maria at R3Daily is starting her very own nail polish line! I am so excited to see a fellow blogger make her dreams come true and I am happy to have known her from the start ;-) Don't forget about us when this makes you a household name like Essie or OPI girl!!!

When Maria first started blogging I had the pleasure of featuring her in one of my Interview with a Polish Blogger segments. You can read Maria's interview here. One interesting fact is that right before Maria first started R3Daily she visited a psychic and the psychic totally foreshadowed what was to come. Maria had been contemplating blogging about lacquer for a while and the psychic totally felt that. You can read more about that experience in her interview.

I wanted to share Maria's press release with you all (though I do imagine most of you follow her fantastic blog).

Cult Nails Press Release:

August 31, 2010 Nail polish blogger R3 Daily announces a new nail polish line, Cult Nails. Maria Morrison is the blogger of R3 Daily and creator of Cult Nails. The polish line will be B3 Free which means it does not contain formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phtalate. Cult Nails polish line is also camphor free, cruelty free and considered a vegan friendly product. "When creating this line it was important to me that not only can I safely wear it, but so can my daughters."

The line will launch in early 2011 with only three colors. Cult Nails will continue to introduce colors to the line throughout each fashion season in 2011. Maria stated that "While I was very excited about the opportunity, I had to be realistic in what I could bring to the table. A small line with a limited collection is a perfect introduction for Cult Nails. The focus is on creating trend setting polish colors that are fun and safe while taking an earth friendly stance in everything we do" In fact Cult Nails commitment to being earth friendly means removing unnecessary packaging, using boxes for shipping that are made from 100% recycled materials and shipping packages with reusable packing materials, like cotton balls.

The three introductory shades will retail for $10 per bottle and will include a vibrant holographic red aptly named "Follow Me", a true grey purple creme with a subtle shimmer named "My Kind of Cool Aid" and a yet to be chosen color that R3 Daily's blog followers will have an opportunity to create. Maria's goal is to involve the polish blogging community in the creation of this new line, "Polish bloggers and followers are the most amazing group of women I have seen. They are so supportive of each other and have amazing ideas when it comes to polish. I can't wait to see what they create! This line isn't just for me, it's for all of us!"

For more information on R3 Daily or Cult nails go to: http://www.r3daily.com/ or http://www.cultnails.com/
So be sure to check out her website and enter the contest for your chance to have your color be a part of Cult Nails inaugural line.

Congratulations Maria. I am excited to see where this polish line goes and I wish you continued success in the process. It's amazing to see someone's dreams come true and truly inspirational to all of us who have big ideas.

Interview with a Polish Blogger: Paige (Paint Away Girls)

Interview with a Polish Blogger is back!

Meet Paige. She's a newer member of the nail polish blogging community and one of our younger bloggers at just 13 years old! Paige is from the UK and her blog Paint Away Girls is great! She loves Disney World like I do so we have quite a bit in common! It's nice to see younger bloggers out there, so go on over to her blog and show your love!

_________________

1. How did you decide to start your blog? What inspired you?

Well, I was just searching Youtube one day and I came across a nail art tutorial so I checked it out and I loved it! Since then I have become addicted to watching the YT beauty gurus. I really wanted to start my own makeup and nail polish channel, I had everything planned out and then I came across blogging instead so I went with that! I love reading other peoples blogs, following people from around the globe and see what other people's favourite polishes are. It's great fun and I hope this is something I do for the rest of my life.

2. If you could only have 5 polishes what would they be?
That's a hard one! Zoya: Midori, China Glaze: Peachy Keen, GOSH: Holographic, Number 7: Vivid Violet and Sinful Colours: This Is It.

3. I hear you're a Disney fan like me! Who's your favorite character? And what's your favorite thing to do at Disney World?
Yep, I'm a huge Disney fan! I love all of the characters but my favourite would have to be Tinkerbell. She's super cute and girly and I love the Tinkerbell movies too! Everything about Disney World is fantastic. The atmosphere, characters, fireworks, attractions, shows, shops, food.. I could go on and on! My favourite park would have to be Magic Kingdom, just because it is the main Disney park and to me, the most magical. My favourite attraction is between Toy Story Mania and Test Track.

You told me you have quite a few of celebrity autographs, what one is your favorite and how did you go about getting them?
Yep, I have several autographs from celebs I admire such as Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Katy Perry, Robert Pattinson, Ant & Dec, The Saturdays, Pixie Lott and a lot more. I joined an online celebrity address database website (fanmail.biz) and I browsed through the forums, started chatting to some very helpful people and they explained to me how to go about requesting. I had to get the agency addresses of the celebrity, write them a letter and include a picture for them to sign. I sent out over 100 requests at the time, and it was so exciting waiting to see who would respond to my letters. I have gotten some lovely replies like handwritten letters, signed CD's, books and pictures and even a Birthday card that I will keep forever.

5. What's your favorite thing to bake?
Mostly I bake sweet thing like muffins, cookies and cakes. I like making cupcakes with pink icing, blueberry muffins, carrot cake (my favourite!) and chocolate chip cookies. Any recipe with chocolate in, I will bake!

6. Who's your favorite YouTube Beauty Guru?
My favourite has to be the amazing julieg713. I love all of her videos! She's so down to earth, bubbly, friendly, fun and she does great tutorials and tags. I have been watching her videos for so long now and she has stayed so real! I also like juicystar07, panacea81, gemsmaquillage, makeupgeektv, meganheartsmakeup.

7. What's your favorite nail polish brand?
I love so many! Revlon are great, as are China Glaze, OPI, Wet n Wild, Barry M and LA Colours Art Deco.

8. What nail polish colors do you wear the most?
It all depends on what mood I'm in an what the weathers like outside! At the moment, I have been wearing a lot of green polish because it's a great spring colour. My all time favourite colour is pink so I wear that a lot too.

9. What nail polish colours do you avoid wearing?
Probablyred's and black. Red because there are so many different type of red's out there that they get a bit boring and black because it's the only polish colour I make a mess with! I can never make black polish look tidy on my nail and it's very hard to get off.

10. What's your favorite TV show?
Easy, 90210! I love that show so much! I love the way it's set out, the characters, great storyline, gorgeous lifestyles. It's just great! I also love The Hills, The Simple Life, The Bill and Gavin & Stacey. I'm a TV addict!

____________

Thanks for a great interview Paige. I look forward to watching your blog grow! Have fun blogging!!!

Interview with a Polish Blogger: Annie (Nailstah)

Meet Annie of Nailstah! If you haven't checked out her blog what are you waiting for? Her nail blog is pretty new and pretty fabulous so go on already!!! Want to get to know the girl behind the blog? Well keep reading!

______________

1. What's your all time favorite nail polish brand?

I think if I HAD to pick just one it would probably be Orly. I'm rarely ever displeased with any of their colors or formulas, and I think they're really underrated.

2. If you had to pick just 5 polishes to keep for life what would they be?

Oh man. This question makes me cringe. How can you limit yourself to just five polishes?! That's a punishment. I would probably pick: 1) Orly- Enchanted Forest, 2) Orly- Mandalay Ruby 3) O.P.I- Dim Sum Plum 4) Color Club- Femme Fatale 5) China Glaze- Vertical Rush. Gosh darn it, what a hard question! I had to go through my Excel spreadsheet. I think variety is the key. I think I could do with a green, red, pink, and a plum, and use Femme Fatale to spice up any of those colors. Whew.

3. What colors do you rock the most? Any you don't like to wear?

I've realized that I always tend to lean toward the same colors of pinks/purples/plums. I try to stay away from neons. They hurt my eyes in the bottle, and I really don't think I can pull them off. =[ I'm trying though! Slowly but surely. But the colors I love wearing are greens, purples, and pinks. I don't think yellows, or blues look very good with my skintone unless it's a really dark shade of blue.

4. What's the strangest job you've ever had?

HMM. I don't know if it's considered strange. It was unusual but not strange. I used to work for the Sheriff's department as a Coroner intern. I did this for about 6 months before I started becoming super cynical so I had to leave to keep my own sanity. Kudos for those who are coroners/ police officers/ sheriffs/ CSIs/etc. It's a hard job, you see so many things that can either make you grow extremely cold as a person, or the experience can change your life. =] All my friends have definitely heard about this and I've shared as many things as I legally could with them. Helps make the society a little more conscientious right? This is going to be the longest answer yet, but I'll share a nail polish related story. A woman was painting her nails in the car while driving in traffic on a highway, and she swerved into a lane with a semi truck. Let's just say, please ladies, don't ever ever ever paint your nails while driving. PLEASE.

5. What do you do for a living?

I am currently a full time student, and work a retail job part time.

6. What's your favorite movie?

Wow, yet another difficult question. I love me a good Disney movie. The ones that top my list are Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Up. I'm such a child at heart. I absolutely love the movie Italian Job, and The Count of Monte Cristo. =D

7. What's your secret to the best manicure?

I don't really have a secret.. I think my manicures are not up to par with some of the blogging ladies. I'm still learning. This has nothing to do with the question but I'll just say, I have a big box where I dump all my untried polishes. I keep a little basket on my desk filled with about 9 polishes that I'd like to wear/swatch. I pick the polishes that go in the basket by sticking my hand in the untried basket and picking out polishes. Fun right? HAHA. This is how I sometimes have random polishes on my posts. =]

8. What's your favorite thing to cook and bake?

BAKE?! LOLOLOLOL. I can't bake worth my life. Although I have such a sweet tooth, I prefer other peoples baking, because mine stinks. I can make a great kimchi fried rice. Yum!! If you don't know what kimchi is, it's a Korean staple. A side dish made from fermented Napa cabbage. Delish!

9. What inspired you to start blogging? How did you decide what to name your blog?

I always loved blogging, I've done it in high school, and then I just fell out of it when I went to college. I wanted to start again because my bff wanted me to make a Tumblr, I did, and wanted something that had reader interaction so I moved to blogspot and the rest is history. I decided to name my blog NAILSTAH, because my nickname in high school/ college was ANSTAH. I have no idea how it arose, but since my name is Annie, I think that has something to do with it.

10. What nail polish brand do you think is totally underrated and fantastic?

Omgoodness, you read my mind. ORLY!!! Absolutely FAB!

11. Let's hear 3 random facts about you...

3 random facts.. oh boyy... 1) I absolutely hate insects, which is odd because I used to work for a biology lab for three years during my undergrad, and there were a ton of insects all over the place. LOL 2) I apparently twitch in my sleep, like a little puppy. Maybe I'm still growing! =D 3) I have really strange chains of thought. I jump from topic to topic which make sense in my head but is usually hard for other people to follow.

I love meeting new people who share the same interests or have any questions, so please feel free to shoot me an email or just say hi! I swear I don't bite. =]

Thanks for a great interview Annie! It's always fun to get to know other nail bloggers!!!!

Interview with a Polish Blogger: Jerlene (Musical Houses)

Meet
Jerlene. She has a wonderful polish/makeup blog that you can check out here. You'll find a ton of awesome swatches there! So wanna meet the girl behind the blog? Keep reading!!

1. How did you get so interested in nail polish?

I wasn't into nail polish originally, and I've only been into nail polish since June last year, although my obsession didn't fully blossom til a couple of months later. My first love was makeup, and I frequented the makeup forum on MUA. Sometimes the girls on MUA would talk about nail polish, so from there I was clued in. And then I found the world of nail blogs, and those seriously sparked some terrible lemmings, and introduced me to so many wonderful brands. I haven't looked back since!

2. What's your collection like size wise? Have you counted?

I don't know exactly, and its hard to count exactly because half my nail stash is in Singapore, while the other half is in the UK. My UK stash has about 70 nail polishes (and about 10 more coming in the mail), while my Singapore stash has around 40-50? So that's a total of 120-130, as a guesstimate. I know that's a baby stash by most standards, but still, who knew I could accumulate so much in 6 months?

3. What's your favorite polish brand?

Nails Inc for application, but OPI for the range of colours. And Nfu Oh for the cool things like flakies. I also really like Revlon, especially the old-school ones. They have some cool colours, and they apply well on me.

4. If you had to choose only 5 polishes to use for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Oh man, that's a tough one! Well my great love is for taupey, mushroomy shades, so I'd definitely keep either Nails Inc Jermyn Street or $OPI Metro Chic. And I'd keep a perfect nude shade so I can wear polish to work, so I'd keep Nails Inc Basil Street. And I need a nice vampy purple, and I'd pick Zoya Yasmeen for that. I'd also want something cool, like a flakie, so I would keep Nfu Oh #51. I'd be crazy to give that one up. And I want something holo, so I'd keep GOSH Holographic. I really can't wear just 5 though, it would be torture.

5. What colors have you been rocking most lately? Is there any color you do not like wearing?

Lately I'm really into purples. I'm a huge purple fan...I think easily a third of my collection is made up of purples. I love purple bags, and purple accessories, and purple nail polish. Honestly, there are lots of colours I don't really wear. I'm a colour wimp, relative to the other nail bloggers, although my real-life friends think I wear too much colour. I don't really wear neons, oranges, yellows or greens, but you know, everything changes...I have a few greens now, and am waiting on my first yellow polish. So you never know!

6. How did you decide to start your blog? What was your motivation? How did you choose the name?

There are two reasons. The first is that before I started my blog, I was actually active on the MUA boards. I actually was already swatching and posting my swatch pictures, but I was doing it on the forums. However, I realized that if for whatever reason my account should get deleted by the admin people of the boards, I'd lose all my swatch pictures. That spurred me to start a blog of my own - at least I'd know all the time and effort spent swatching wouldn't go to waste. The second reason is that I realized that my friends in the US wanted UK and Asian makeup swatches, so I decided since I was in a position to provide these, I should do so. The name of my blog came about because I wanted my blog to be about makeup and nail polish - and hence, of faces and fingers.

7. What do you think is the most essential tool/technique/product needed to achieve the perfect manicure?

I'd say cleanup is really important. I suck at it, and also I'm usually too lazy to really clean up, as you can tell from my pictures, but if you are really into photographing your manis cleanup is vital, because cameras in macro mode pick up all sorts of imperfections. The best technique for cleaning up is to get acetone (or if not, some nail polish remover), and dip a stiff, small, synthetic brush in it, and go around the edges of your nails with the brush. I'd also say using some sort of cuticle lotion or balm really helps in making your cuticles look less raggedy. I personally love the Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream.

8. You're like me, you love animals: What's your favorite animal?

Dogs! I'm really really a dog person. I love dogs of any breed and size! I'm the weirdo who will approach you if I see you walking your dog and say, "Your dog is so cute! Is it a girl or a boy?" and start conversing with you about your dog. I used to grow up with two dogs when I was a kid, so I really do have very fond memories of playing with them and spending time with them. I was so sad when they died, I cried my eyes out. I love pets in general though, I also used to keep a rabbit, so obviously I really love cute furry animals. I used to keep fish for awhile, but I didn't really like fish as much, because the interaction level is much lower...Like you can't hug fish, or pet them, or see them respond when you call their name. I guess I like pets I can play with!

9. Where are you from and have you traveled a lot?

I'm from Singapore, but I've lived for 3 years in Chicago, and am currently living in London. I think I'm lucky that way, it's really enabled me to see so many things and meet so many types of people, and also, I've been able to accumulate makeup and nail polish items from all over the world! LOL. Travel-wise, I've been to other parts of the US - Boston, Florida, Las Vegas, Minnesota, San Franciso - and I've also been to Canada. I haven't travelled much in Europe sadly, but I did go to Germany once for a couple of weeks. Within Asia I've travelled a lot, because that's where I grew up. I've been to Malaysia quite a number of times, and Indonesia a few times, and I've also been to China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand (just Phuket, the overcrowded tourist spot), and Australia (technically it's not quite part of Asia, but it's geographically nearby).

10. What do you do for a living?

Currently I'm a student, doing my Masters in Management, but I'll be starting work soon in a few months. I can't believe I'm starting work already, and I feel apprehensive and ambivalent about entering the working world. I'm worried that I won't have as much time to indulge in my makeup/nail polish/blogging hobby once I start work, and I hope I don't die in the cross-fires of office politics...I'd be really uncomfortable if I have to deal with things like that. Oh well, guess I'm not Peter Pan...

11. What's your favorite makeup item?

Lipgloss! I'm a total gloss girl! My first love in makeup was lipgloss. Even when I was a kid, long before I really got into makeup, I was always saving up my allowance to accumulate enough to buy the cheapie lipglosses they have at the drugstore. And by cheap I really mean cheap, like random-no-name-Asian brand. Revlon and L'oreal were high-end to me at that time, because they were beyond my kid's budget. LOL. I ended up actually having around 10 or so of those really crappy lipglosses even before I got into makeup. The colours I picked then were really bad (think hot fuschia pink, orange and brown), but I was so proud of my mini-stash back then.

12. What polish brand do you think is the best kept secret? (not popular but fabulous)

Nails Inc. They're not that un-famous, but outside the UK few people have heard of them. I also just got a couple of KOH polishes, which I really like!

Interview with a Polish Blogger: Sarah (GlitterMillie)

Meet Sarah!! She's the owner of GlitterMille's Nails and Sparkle. Her blog is wonderful and if you haven't checked it out yet you totally should! I had a fun time interviewing her and as always if you're interested in a feature contact me!

_____________

1. How did you get so interested in nail polish?

I was first into nail polish when I was 16/17. I had loads of bottles back then and really regret not keeping them all! My interest in it was renewed after chatting to Niki (Magic Maid) on Twitter. I knew Niki through YouTube and when I got into Twitter I was lured by her pictures of polishes :) It's all her fault!

2. What's your collection like size wise? Have you counted?

My collection is quite small really, compared to the giants of the nail polish network. I haven't counted for a while but at last count it was just over 100 so I reckon it's about 150ish now.

3. What's your favorite polish brand?

It's a toss up between China Glaze and Nails Inc. China Glaze have such a massive variety and come out with some real stunners but I think at a push I'd go for Nails Inc despite the fact they're quite expensive and I don't actually have that many of them! I just love the colours and think the bottles are very cute.

4. If you had to choose only 5 polishes to use for the rest of your life, what would they be?

This is the hardest question! I think it would have to be China Glaze's Coconut Kiss, Chi Chi's Moondust, OPI's Teal The Cows Come Home, Nails Inc Chesham Street and Collection 2000's Show Off.

5. What colors have you been rocking most lately? Is there any color you do not like wearing?

I tend to wear a lot of dark blues and purples. My collection leans heavily towards those colours but lately I've been trying to buy colours I wouldn't usually consider just for a change! I'm not a big fan of yellows. I don't think they suit my skin tone at all!

6. How did you decide to start your blog? What was your motivation? How did you choose the name?

I can't actually remembered what inspired me to start my blog in the first place. Originally it was meant to be for makeup and general chit chat rather than nail polish so I think I must have started it after I decided YouTube wasn't for me. If you look back at my very first posts they're mainly about Urban Decay. It turned to nail polish after, as I mentioned earlier, Niki got me hooked. Showing my nails in photos is much easier than showing my face! As for the name Glittermillie, well that's just what I chose when I joined YouTube and I stuck with it. Sometimes I think I should change it as it's not exactly inspired but, well it's part of me now! Millie is my nickname and I love glitter so I just put them together... (you can tell a lot of thought went into that!)

7. What do you think is the most essential tool/technique/product needed to achieve the perfect manicure?

A nail buffer. For me, my manicure's always look their best after I've buffed them first. Unfortunately it's not something you should really do more than once a week otherwise it would be part of my daily routine.

8. What are your favorite television shows and movies?

TV - I love all the CSIs (Las Vegas is my favourite), Ghost Whisperer, Medium, any Agatha Christie mystery, Midsomer Murders and any show that involves dancing in any form. Film - My favourite films are pretty much all musicals! Moulin Rouge and Chitty, Chitty Bang, Bang would probably top the list. I also love scary films and pyscological thrillers.

9. What are your favorite books? Fiction and non.

This is a dangerous question! I could be here all day :) I will be restrained though. My favourite fiction books are all Harlan Coben books, Gideon and Icarus by Russell Andrews, all Nicci French books, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, The Curious Case of the Dog in the Night by Mark Haddon and The Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella. Non fiction - I've just bought Makeup: The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris and I absolutely love it. One of the best makeup books I've ever read. I also love the books Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things and How to Clean Just About Anything...Isn't that sad!!

10. What polish brand do you think is the best kept secret? (not popular but fabulous)

I love HJ Manicure polishes. I only have a couple of them but I really want to get some more. One of the colours I have, Midnight Sky, is one of the most amazing blues I have seen.

11. You mentioned you love to cook, what's your best dish?

I just asked Maz about this and he couldn't decide between lasagna, chilli con carne and various curries! He's easily pleased. My personal favourites that I cook are enchiladas and roast chicken.

12. I hear you're crafty? How did you start making cards? Where do you get inspiration?

I've been making my own cards for about 8 years now. I don't always handmake things, it depends how much time I have but I think it adds a personal touch. I got into it out of boredom one Christmas when I wasn't working. I get my inspiration from experimenting and just everyday life really! I see colours etc that look good together, or a design on something that I think will look good on a card. I can't draw to save my life so the cards are basically sticking things together!

I hope you enjoyed learning a little about Sarah! Thanks for the great interview Sarah, it was fun!
