Zoya: Noel (Gems & Jewels Collection)

It's Friday!!! Yay! Today I have a polish from Zoya to share with you.  This is from the Gems and Jewels Holiday Collection and it's called Noel: Zoya describes Noel as: "A faded denim blue with subtle hints of gold and silver in a dense foil finish. A dreamy, sparkling shade that's like blue jeans for your nails." It's sort of a silly description if you ask me ;-) But it's accurate, it's a blue foil with silver sparkle. It's nice to see a color like this for winter because blues do remind me of the season.

Application was surprisingly nice.   Foils tend to streak a lot! This one streaked a little bit but ultimately I think the finish is nice compared to other foils on the market. I'm happy with it. The sparkle on this is brilliant.  I used just two coats for full opacity and I had no balding at all and no visible nail line.

I received several unsolicited compliments when I wore this one, which is always nice! It always puts a smile on my face when someone notices my nails!

 With Flash:

So what do you think of this one for the season? Can you see yourself rocking this shade?

Dr.'s Remedy: SERENE Silver Glitter

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late post today but I had a horrible migraine headache today and didn't even go to work :-(

Today I want to share another polish Dr.'s Remedy. This is from their holiday collection and it's called SERENE, Silver Glitter. This is one fabulous holiday polish! I think if you're going to splurge on one Dr.'s Remedy polish this one should be high on your list.  Whereas many of their offerings are really stand by favorite colors this one is bold and unique in my collection (and my collection is embarrassingly huge)!

This is a silver glitter with blue, green and red glitter particles throughout. The color combo is perfect for the holidays and makes me think of ornaments and tinsel! Make sure you enlarge the photos to see the colors!

The best thing about this polish is the texture. Sometimes glitter polishes are beautiful but gritty and almost uncomfortable to wear. I am sure you notice I don't feature many glitters on the blog and that's not because I don't love them, it's because I don't love applying, wearing and removing them.  This formula is different.  It's so smooth and it's almost like the glitter is INSIDE the polish.  I don't really know how to describe it.  The polish feels smooth and almost suede like to the touch.  Unlike many glitters I didn't feel like I needed to pack on several coats of top coat. I always use a top coat so I did use one but the texture was just divine on this polish.

I had no issues applying and this is three coats. I do think you need the three coats for full opacity but as glitters go I do think you can get away with two if you're not in the mood to run over it again. I also had no issues removing this polish. I did not have to do the whole foil thing either, I just removed like any other polish. Now that's saying something!

I am once again impressed with the quality of this brand and I am happy to see them branching out and creating unique and bold colors. I still think the price point is hard to swallow but it really is a quality product. I guess if you pay $16 for an eye shadow primer you can pay $17 for a nail polish right? A splurge like any other.

Coat by Coastal Scents: Cosmic

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend! Today I have a stunning polish to share with you from Coastal Scent's new line of polishes called "Coat".  These polishes retial for $3.95 at Coastal Scents.  They're a little on the expensive side because they are only .20 oz or 6ml.  So they're about 1/2 the size or normal nail polishes... so they're essentially the price of Essie or OPI if you consider the size.

The color I purchased is called Cosmic and it's beautiful! Cosmic is a black jelly base packed with green and orange flakies. I wish the photos did it justice. I think the most accurate photo is the bottle photo to the right. That shows the amazing green flakies really well. On my nail photos you can only really see the orange flakies but I promise there are plenty of gorgeous emerald green flakies to be found in this one.

The formula is average and I didn't have much trouble applying it. It's a three coater for sure or else the base is too grayed out and sheer.  The bottle is super small and the handle is fat so it made it a little difficult to grip while applying. The brush is a little stubby too but I had no real issues with that. Flakies disbursed evenly and didn't get hung up on the tips of my nails at all.

Overall for the uniqueness of the color I really like this. I have had good experiences with Coastal Scents. I always get my products quickly, packaged with care and at a low shipping cost which is appreciated.  I'd order more polishes from the line to try out, I think they'd make nice stocking stuffers!

Have you tried Coat nail polish? What do  you think? Do you dig this color as much as I do? Sound off in the comments!
